The final Colin Baker story, seems to be split into 4 stories but is considered 1 big story and is 14 episodes long.

Good or Bad?

If you were collecting the DVDs and had opportunity to buy it cheaper would you?

If you care about 100% completion in any way, sure go ahead and get it, but get it cheap.


It has some good ideas, but I'm saying Bad overall because of what a mess it was with too many writers. And that (insert long string of angry profanity) heart effect showing Peri and Yrcanos ending up together. Forget the stupid heart thing, just putting them together at all to happify her previous end. Just (insert long string of LOUD angry profanity)



To clarify the good ideas - the Time Lords moving Earth and then attempting to cover it up as well as trying to punish the Doctor based upon something he hasn't even done yet.

I haven't watched those tapes since I first recorded them over 30 years ago! I keep threatening to check them out again, but so far I haven't bothered! I was very disappointed at the time! Ya never know, in my old age, it might be worth it! Good luck!

Mindwarp and The Ultimate Foe are good. Terror of the Vervoids however is quite possibly the worst episode of classic Doctor Who ever made.

There are ways to watch it before you purchase it. You should make your own judgment, it's dangerous to rely on opinions of strangers on the internet. But since you asked, I thought it was okay. I'm on a continuous journey to collect all the stories, I want to have every episode. If you're a completest and found a good deal, definitely go for it.

It's alright. Poorly linked together. The first story is alright, I like Sabalom Glitz, Peri's not as annoying. Some nice effects at the very beginning. The trial scenes start to grate pretty early and get ludicrous near the end when they just change the charge halfway through the trial. Second story Mindwarp has some great ideas, but it's very poorly put together. Basically when you see the Doctor acting like a dick, you have three options
1. The record has been compromised, 2. he's under mind control and acting outside his own will, 3. he's pretending to be under mind control, and I forgot about 4. He's just a dick. And it's never explained which of those is the case. Vervoids story I actually liked. the last 2 parter had the writer die halfway through, then the script editor stormed off, so they had to call in Pip and Jane Baker to write the script for Part 14 without being able to look at the script for Part 13. The result's not as bad as you may think, but it's annoying they didn't link the stories together better and actually try to explain what was happening with the Doctor in Mindwarp better.

I wanted to like it, but it's a bit of a mess. Some of it is very good, some of it not so much. The one time use character called the Valeyard is poorly done and his a not so believable beginning and end and reveals the very thing the Timelords created the trial to hide.

Very good, but put on a pot of coffee.

If you are the same as XFiles 25, then go ahead and get it. If not, well, it is a hard story that features a not-so-popular character; you may as well wait for the price to fall further.
