I do think that's so neat! I currently watching your erstwhile grandfather in an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents called "The Manacled". He is really terrific in this cool episode about a manacled prisoner who tries to convince the police officer transporting him by train to jail of splitting the money he stole. I love his smart, sarcastic acting here.

A Bravura Actor
I just finished watching the Hitchcock half hour The Manacled, and William Redfield made it work. It had a good, well written script. Co-star Gary Merrill was in fine form, too, but Redfield had better lines, more to work with. Merrill, whom I've always liked, had fewer opportunities to flex his acting muscles. Redfield might have, but didn't quite go over the top; it was a role well within his range, and he knocked it out of the park.
