Arrow : The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
maybe it's quite a tight contract but more in favour for Katie?

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
Well, by the looks of things, this season she will have appeared in 2 out of a possible 69 episodes (for Arrow, Flash and LoT), so I'd say it's in her favour, lol.
This doesn't sound much like a contract, to be honest. And Guggie doesn't sound like he wants her around anyway. The feeling is probably mutual.

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
no, i mean like they only can suggest when she can appear but she can say yes or no or something like that. Might be a clause or something

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
I could see that being the case if she was involved in other projects like Barrowman and Wentworth Miller are. But to cherrypick when you want to go to work? Again, it doesn't sound much like a contract.
Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
There is no 4 way contract John Barrowman confirmed it at comicon
It is a demotion going from regulars to guest stars is not a promotion

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
If she doesn't work under a contract, it's not a demotion either. The demotion took place when they replaced her with EBR as the leading lady 2 years ago. What happened last year was a firing.
I don't mind not seeing her again actually. Every time she comes back they find new ways to piss on Laurel. It's Guggie's lies that get on my nerves. He's the one who promoted this grand contract last summer.
On a side note, Willa has gone missing because she's only contracted for 14 episodes this season.

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
Actually it was Wendy who said kc was coming back because of that click bait contract
And yes kc was fired the only reason they didn't kill of E2 laurel too was because KC's "representation" got involved

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
I doubt they would have killed off E2 Laurel anyway. It would have been moronic after they just killed off Laurel on Arrow. Besides, her representation has no say in what they do with her characters.
Wendy did leak the news about Cassidy returning in 5.10, but it was Guggenheim who leaked the news about the "regular across all shows" contract when he was talking to that tumblr Oliciter last summer.

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
The point is the contracts are questionable if they learn it from the internet
Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
The internet learned it from somewhere though. During comic con a lot of outlets were reporting the news about her contract.
It also doesn't help that the EPs like to fuel all this misinformation. A few weeks ago Guggie was talking (again) about having an idea for a Laurel arc on LoT. And now LoT has almost finished its shooting for the season and KC hasn't stepped foot on that set once.

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
Well at the end of the day its all buzz and people are talking about the show
And obviously plans change
And the willa contract thing I saw some quotes(i won't give gatv clicks) on Twitter if its true 13 14 episode basis and then the word availability comes up a lot so let's add up what we know what willa has said she likes being speedy I bet if she was speedy this season she would have been in more episodes that doesn't sound like drama "yet"

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
Canadagraphs (who posts here sometimes) has a really interesting comment on Willa's contract versus Emily's contract:

http://www.greenarrowtv.com/answering-arrow-season-5s-greatest-mystery-wheres-thea/
I realize not everyone understands celebrity contracts, but what this means is Willa actually had much more negotiating power than Emily did when she signed her deal.
For Willa to have negotiated to only work a total of 14 episodes maximum, compared to Emily who would have had to just accept that her season contract is for however many episodes they want, is to the credit of the actress that managed to get paid a full season but only allowed to appear in X amount of episodes.
Same as how shows leads like with Castle, Supernatural and even yes Arrow, have negotiated that they can only work a maximum of 4 (or less) days a week. The bigger a star (especially when the series has been around for awhile), the more demands they can make when they sign a deal.
Since Emily was quite literally a nobody when she signed her deal, she had no choice but to accept that the show decides how many episodes & how many days she has to work, where as Willa, coming off several movies & a season of The OC had enough name recognition that she was able to make demands when she signer her deal. This is partially why EBR has so much screen time, because theres no cap on how many days/episodes they can put her in for so shes an easy space filler.
As much as I dislike Felicity & Emily, this has nothing to do with HER. This is what WILLA wanted. She didnt want to work all 23 episodes, and they gave her that. Youd be surprised what type of minimum & maximum screen time/episodes/work days deals actors have. Right now in Vancouver I know of at least 8 actors with 4 (or less) day work week caps, and I am sure theres many more.
Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
I disagree with that completely.
It would be the opposite way around. I believe its the budget that is dictating these contracts. This show is in its 5th season. The ratings are sinking and the costs are becoming more expensive. Firstly to fire Katie Cassidy and remove a 2nd lead contract from the budget and reduce Willa down to almost half a season of episodes so save money from a s1 cast member contract.
I'd even wager Rory/Rene/Evelyn/Dinah (don't know any of their names in real life) are all together the same amount of money to hire as guest starts in one episode as it is to have 1 cast member in an episode. I remember the EP from Veronica Mars once said the exact same thing.
Willa isn't that big of a star that she would be requesting time off or not to work as much or whatever that is. Its a lucky gig for actors to secure a regular cast member spot on any network TV show. The only ones that want to leave are the ones that make it really big.
The unexpected is the new cliche ~

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
Hmm, interesting. Stab-El also makes a good point though. This is a standard tactic when CW shows are cutting costs. Smallville is a good example of that. During the last 3 seasons, every actor except for 2 was contracted for 12-16 episodes per season. The same seems to be happening on Arrow now. Willa has missed 3 episodes this season, Blackthorne also 3 and John Segarra (who's credited as a regular) has missed 4. The only regulars who haven't missed any episodes are the "OTA" trio and Echo.
The show's horrible ratings since Laurel's death were going to come at a cost

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
I didn't even realise JOhn Segarra was a regular. But I bet its a 13 episode contract or something around that. But either way, Echo & Segarra as regulars would be a lot cheaper than Katie & John Barrowman.
They never should have killed off Laurel.

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
Funny how their ideas never pan out.
Marc spilled the "spoiler" about the supposed contract with KC before it was announced at the panel during SDCC. That sound like a last minute contract to get stuff in order so they can do their SL. This was always a guest star contract.

Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
There is no contract. It will be episode by episode and no one wants her back as she WAS FIRED! those LL twitter are imposter and probably have 10,0000 just to spread lies and sent death threats to the cast!
Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
Stop spreading lies about no one wanting her back, you fake fan troll.
Re: The joke that is Katie Cassidy's Arrowverse contract.
Just have her as Black Siren.
