Arrow : If Dinah Drake had been here since the beginning …

Re: If Dinah Drake had been here since the beginning …

The exact same thing could be said about Oliver as well.

GeekyBriggs is a bully. No wonder IMDB is shutting down the boards.

Agree %100 dude. The new Canary is everything Laurel should of been from the get go and I find it hard to accept her for the simple fact of how the show runners and writers treated Katie's character

I didn't see the point of going through 2 just to land at the actual original Black Canary in season 5. Yeah, yeah I get "Sara wasn't BC" blah blah whatever but the point is that she was on the show, "mythos" aside. I also really liked her in the role but whatever. However, if they wanted to go through some sort of "journey"in finding the "real" Canary then they could've had Laurel as the first one if they wanted to somewhat keep with the comics with Laurel Dinah eventually becoming Canary.

I don't know, to me this is the show continuing on with unnecessary song and dance.

Yeah, at this point, it's just all "too little, too late".

Re: If Dinah Drake had been here since the beginning …

Exactly my point! Why should I care now when they waited so late to "officially" introduce a pretty important Green Arrow character, but I've long accepted that Guggemtroll and the rest couldn't give a hot damn about fans of the comics in their insisting on continuously insulting us, then (not so) subtly gloat on it as if they were 10 year old bullies. If they indeed have Arrow on a 5 year plan making it year 5 this year, why wait so damn long to bring in Dinah Drake? Obviously they've probably scraped that because I don't see this getting cancelled anytime soon. We're supposed to accept her because of her name and who she is in the lore, but we don't know much about her and we all know how this show is about any type of character development or general lack thereof.

Sorry if this is full of randomness, I'm still battling the damn flu for a week and a half now, lol. Oh does it suck.

Re: If Dinah Drake had been here since the beginning …

Personally i would have had no problem if Laurel never became the Black Canary. I liked her character since season 1. She wasnt perfect but she was a human being.

I was ok with Sara as the Canary because she logically became BC. Steps were taken that allowed her to become that character.

Laurel on the other hand became the Black Canary way too soon and at a point where the choice made no sense.

They should have had a timeskip [2-3 years] after the events of the season 1 finale and have Laurel reappear in season 2 as the Black Canary. At that point she would have fit for the character because she would have the right mentality for the job.

Instead the writters ignored the development they had already created about the character and listened to the request of the fans to have her as Black Canary. And that didnt turn out well.

Now for the new Black Canary. Had no Black Canaries appeared before her then i would have accepted her character as well. But as you said she is a lame attempt to right a big error. I like her character. It would have been better imo if instead of making her the BC had her be a capable police officer chasing after Oliver and his team like Lance did in season 1 [which was the main reason i liked Lance.while everyone was so quick on cheering for the vigilante he was the only one that realised that he promotes chaos instead of order.especially now that he doesnt just take down corrupt individuals the law cant easily touch but tries to act like a God and neutralize all the evil of the city on his own with his lame team].

What do you think about it?
