I don't think it's strange. I just think it is very heartbreaking. I believe he couldn't live without his wife and he just gave up. People had nothing but negative things to say about him and his wife. He just died of a broken heart.

I feel sorry for his mother-in-law. She's probably still grieving over Britt and then I just found out her mother passed away last month. Now, she has to deal with Simon's death. He was probably helping her cope with all the grief she has to deal with right now. She probably feels so alone. I wouldn't be surprised if she checks out pretty soon, God forbid.

People have talked so much trash about Simon. Okay, maybe he was a real mean person to everyone else but he probably loved his wife to the core of his soul. We don't know how a person is behind closed doors. You cannot judge them on their past nor on what you see on the outside. Again, his heart was probably broken.

Poor Sharonshe may not be able to handle finding 2 dead bodies in the same house. She has been a bit 'fragile' herself.

I think people are playing this mystical "broken heart" card a little too much. The truth is, by his own admission in a video he was in, this was an overweight man. He smoked, he was rumored to abuse drugs AND with his mother's admission, he was sick his whole life.

No, I'm not a brain surgeon. I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but adding a few things up helps me take out this "a person gives up after a loved one dies" mantra. His HEALTH and the apparent way he treated his body is what did him in. Perhaps the STRESS of the death of his wife played a role, but his treatment of his body was, likely, the culprit.

Again, watch the video where he gives a tour of his house. He was sitting outside, smoking, he was VERY large, and he himself lead the camera crew on a tour of the homewhen they came to the gym.he said "It's clear I'm in here every day" in a joking fashion. Then there is his so-called health problems and alleged drug problems. Even if you don't want to speculate on the drug usefinethe rest of those things are enough to cause a heart attack for ANYBODY.

He gave up my foot..bad health and treatment of the body. Sorry to step on the magical fantasy that a heart can't live without ONE person out of a hundred million.but, anybody who knows a thing about the body can see this guy was setting himself up.

It just proves that the man loved his wife. I believe he subconsciously willed his own death. It happened with Christopher Reeves' widow and many other couples whose spouse died and then the surviving spouse dies soon after. So leave the man alone, he is with his spouse Brittany Murphy.

That's truly amazing that Dana Reeve could will and receive lung cancer so she could immediately join her husband in death, and she never smoked. That's the first.

Could anyone actually will lung cancer from grief alone? No. For Simon, a long history of inadequate diet and exercise and drug abuse, yes.

I beg to differ. There is very much a mind-body component to cancer. If your interested, investigate Deepak Chopra or Mary Baker Eddy . Many cancer survivors use meditation and other stress relief strategies to keep the ravages of cancer at bay. I don't have the time or inclination to go into detail on this post, but you can be assured that Christopher Reeve's widow almost certainly willed herself to die because of her grief. There is just too much documented evidence of surviving spouses dying very soon afterwards.

I disagree. My BF of 11 years had died 15 years ago, and I didn't get cancer or what he had. I had grieved so much for him and lost a lot of weight from depression, but I was still healthy with no health issues.

Today, I am 46 and am married to my DH for 11 years with a young child.

It just randomly depends on one's habits and genetics. Like, there is no cancer in my family. Extra stress from a spouse's death can bring somda0ething on, but it's not a "guarantee" that they will die from the same thing from grief alone.

Well, that's you. Simon Monjack didn't have the inner resources to survive his wife by a large time frame. The statistics are pretty dismal in this phenomenon.

BTW, I'm glad you survived the odds. The loss of a love one can be extremely stressful, so if I came across as flippant that wasn't my intention.

There is an article on Brittany Murphy and her husband Simon Monjack that chronicled their last days. It was written by the parent of one of Brittany Murphy's peers. In that article it was suggested that Simon Monjack often had psychosomatic illnesses to evoke sympathy from family and acquaintances. This may have contributed to his early demise so soon after his wife's death and the similar circumstances.

Brittany Murphy's mother is a serial killer in disguise,and both of them found out about her terrible secret.

Just googled out of curiosity to find that he died in the EXACT same way Brittany died, Pneumonia and Anemia. Seriously, HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN!? Did they fall in love after they both learned they had iron deficiencies or something? And why wouldn't he rush to the hospital after experiencing the same symptoms he saw his wife have right before her death!? Just trying to figure this all out!

It's called drugs. Her mother claims Murphy didn't take drugs because of a heart condition but the coroner found a cocktail of prescripion drugs in her system that made her ill and eventually caused her death. He also said she must have been sick for at least a good two weeks before dying and had they gone to the hospital she would have probably lived today. Some people seem to think that it's not drugs just because a doctor prescribed it. Heroine for example that everyone considers bad is derived from morphine, they are very closely related. There's a reason why doctors want to know if you're on any drugs before prescribing more drugs and there's a reason why they tell you what doses you can take. Obviously that went straight over her and her husbands head. They probably shopped for drugs from lots of different doctors, it's easy enough to do in the USA if you have money.

They both died in the same way because they both shared the same addiction to prescription drugs and they probably mixed the very same drugs. It's very common for someone to get his/her partner addicted as well if you're an addict. Pneumonia and Anemia are symptoms but not the original cause.
