Stephen McHattie : What a STAR this guy is!

What a STAR this guy is!

All I can say is that he is one of the most exciting actors I have ever seen!
Although he does not always have the biggest roles in the films, he still uses his creativity and talent and turn the part into gold. He must be every directors dream. Would hire him on the spot if I had the money.
Very much hope to see him in more leading roles in the future! He is simply the best. Many THANKS for all great performances so far, Mr McHattie and also want to wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Re: What a STAR this guy is!

I agree totally. A fantastic all-around actor. I have been enjoying his acting in old reruns of Cold Case lately. I hated that he left the series, but oh well.

Happy Birthday!!!

Re: What a STAR this guy is!

So true. I first noticed him in Emily of New Moon. If you want to see him in all his glory, check out his turn as Grant Mazzy in Pontypool. He's pretty much on screen the whole movie!

Re: What a STAR this guy is!

Sounds like the movie Ive been waiting on for ages!!! McHattie on the screen the whole movie sounds like a dream too good to be true. How I wish I lived in Canada and could go and check it out straight away! Have no idea when it will reach Scandinavia..? Hope it wont take too long til it gets here or is available on dvd! Many thanks for this reply!

Re: What a STAR this guy is!

In Maurice Richard, he is the second most important actor of the picture.

Re: What a STAR this guy is!

I agree I've seen him in all manner of minor and major films and tv shows, and he's always awesome!

I think I first saw him in X-Files, then later hilariously in Lexx (twice!), and after that many, many more roles in tv and film.

Recently, when I saw Watchmen for the first time, I didn't know he was in it and was thrilled to see him playing Hollis Mason. Interestingly, Stephen was about the only actor in the film besides Matt Frewer that I recognized from anywhere else!

I'll second the OP's wish that we see him in more roles, and more leading roles, in the future I really hope Watchmen opened some major doors (after a great performance in a landmark film) for you, mate!

Re: What a STAR this guy is!

First time I saw him was in Centennial as Jake Pasquinel - thought he was a very good actor and has been one of my favourites ever since

Half Irish, Half German - hated by all. But at least I'm not Welsh jump8.gif

Re: What a STAR this guy is!

Mr. McHattie is a fantastic actor who isn't a household name but certainly deserves to be. He's certainly a household face and continues to create memorable roles in TV and films after decades of hard work.

I've just watched him in one of his early films, 1976's "Moving Violation," and it's clear we're looking at an actor with a future ahead of him as long as he kept his focus. Thankfully, he has and does.

Re: What a STAR this guy is!

I saw this guy in pontypool, very good performance so underrated, and I just realized that he has acted in so many of my favourite movies and tv shows that im astonished i never noticed him before pontypool. The guy should be way more famous than he is.

Re: What a STAR this guy is!

A genuine star. Simply unforgettable in everything he appears in.
