Thanks, I appreciate it. I think there are some others.
There is the defunct "Tough Nuts" thread …
but I would have to repost it in a shortened form. Plus, there was a site dedicated to the "What's it do? It doesn't do anything, that's the beauty of it!" quest. I think that one is listed somewhere on ACT_1's archive site at http://www.actwon.com/imdb/.

Thanks Hutch for all your contributions including solving the first question I had on this board . Assuming that IMDb goes through with its plans, do you plan to migrate to Get Satisfaction? http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000001/nest/265709196 There's also a clone site that isn't functional at the moment: http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000001/nest/265759329
EDIT: Ah , it's GlennME who is doing a clone site: http://imdb2.freeforums.net/board/3/

"do you plan to migrate to Get Satisfaction?"
Still undecided! I'm already registered on GetSat, so I have access to that. I think I'll do what you're doing: poll my board Friends and ask where they might end up. I will certainly check out Glenn's site. Did you read the posts flying about rottentomatoes.com? And why is the Link function not working for me? Is it just another symptom of civilisation crumbling around our ears?

rotten tomatoes and reddit
I'm not sure what has been said about rotten tomatoes. I see they have a forum and they have a thread going discussing IMDb: http://forum.rottentomatoes.com/topic/show/1997199 Looking on preview, url links appear to be still working. There is also a discussion going on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/5rv143/imdb_is_dismantling_their_message_board_system_my/.

Hi, k!
Thanks for the address of your site; now I've bookmarked it for future reference. Haven't seen you around for a while and now it looks like I won't ever again!(Snif.)
Thanks to rycki, also we'll see in the next little while where the tides of fortune will sweep all of us.

The User kcor1953 has a That's the Beauty of It blog dedicated to the infamous IMDb thread from over a decade ago. It hasn't been updated in almost nine years, but it does archive a lot of the info from that thread.

I don't know what they have to say. It makes no difference anyway. Whatever it is, I'm against it.

Thanks so much, rycki! Also, thanks for your contributions here. .
Do you have any preferences about where you'll go after Feb 20?
If WillED is around, thank you for replying on my question about Little Big Man and likewise, thanks for your contributions.

You're welcome.
That "It doesn't do Anything, That's the Beauty of It" thread is the reason I became a regular on this board. It went on seemingly forever, and back then the post limit on a thread was a lot higher so it had thousands of replies.
I had posted sporadically on several boards since I had registered in 2000, but when that thread was started in 2004 I started coming to this board regularly every day and I've been here ever since.
I've registered at the http://imdb2.freeforums.net/ site, but so far it is a clone of only the main IMDb boards. It's great in theory, but even if the regulars all start going there, will the people who aren't regulars who came to this board to ask questions ever be able to find the new board?
What it doesn't have is all the boards for the movies and TV series, and I loved posting on a lot of those boards, too.
I've checked some of the other boards suggested like Reddit & Rottentomatoes. They have a lot of users, but I'm not that fond of the layouts of the sites. I may try them out, though.
The GetSatisfaction site has already created an I Need to Know board. I've been registered at Getsatisfaction for a while, but hardly ever post there. I may try that one out, too. That one does have the advantage of being linked here on IMDb and users looking for the answers to questions would be able to find it easier to ask a question.
