Really. I guess we are too mean to people.

Whaaat? The message boards always have good things on them. Thats why I mostly come to imdb! Down with imdb!

Maybe, but that seems to be true with every site. Topix forums is horrible about that with all of the trolls and haters. A lot of them seem to sit at home all day posting nasty comments. I guess no job, so they have to find something to do.

Wow. I thought 95% of the content was at pretty innocuous. But then imdb would purge some really funny, non-mean-spirited threads.

They're going to see their daily traffic drop by 75-80%. They'll regret it.

I agree. I've been on IMDb since 1999, but my checking out the site skyrocketed when the boards came about a couple years later. As they got more popular, that was even better.

Now, it feels like a huge loss. I just don't like Reddit except to lurk occasionally. And Facebook for tv shows? Forget about it.

That's too bad, a lot of the comments are really funny. That's why I come here. If people don't want to be the possible subject of negative comments, stay off TV.

Some boards don't have any relevant content. Just trolls talking about underage girls. and being racist.

This is true. That's where I think mods and admins should do their job. Wikipedia was a huge joke for trolls until people were hired to make sure pages stayed informative. In the case of Wikipedia, citations also helped bring it more credibility.

There is no reason mods and admins here couldn't stay on top of trolls as best as possible. For one, ban IP Addresses from those who keep getting banned and make new handles. Delete profane tooics. Those sorts of things. So many boards here (including this one) have never been damaged. This all just blows.

Yeah, this totally sucks!! I will be using IMDb a lot less in future, that's for surestupid decision on their part

I stumbled on a message board for My 600lb Life a few months ago, I googled My 600lb life message boards and it popped up. Its title is forums.priviously.tv/forum

Pretty active but I love this board!
