Quantum Leap : I hope that they never remake this show.
Re: I hope that they never remake this show.
Agreed and then the show would be ruined. Also it wouldn't be the same with a different cast. Nobody but Dean Stockwell could ever play Al and get away with it. Never.
Re: I hope that they never remake this show.
No.
They kept it ambiguous then, and they could keep it ambiguous in any prospective future iteration of the series. Additionally, the mere inclusion of the idea that it might be God, would not rankle enough atheists, or members of other religions, as to create sufficient backlash to hurt the show; nor would a studio or network care.
"Our families are in there! Our, uh, mothers and and tiny, tiny babies!"

Re: I hope that they never remake this show.
I'll bet it would. You can't take a step anymore without it infringing on someone's 'rights'.
I agree with the OP. I think they would drop that aspect of it. Even the metaphysical nature would be dropped, I'll bet and it would end up being a strictly scientific problem.
I think dropping that aspect would be a huge mistake. I think two leapers, make and female would be interesting. Then you'd get two different attitudes to it and see things from the other side of the coin, like a woman in a man's body.

Re: I hope that they never remake this show.
You're making a baseless assumption on an absurd premise of what people would complain about, or how networks would respond to it.
There are shows on right now, and made over just the last couple of years, that have built religion and the supernatural into its core; including a show called Supernatural, which has been on the air for about a decade now

I think you're right. I think they would drop that and it would ruin it. Even with the metaphysical nature being a little vague they would probably drop it. A crossover with the Bakula NCIS would be interesting though.
I'd like to see two Leapers if they ever redo it.

Re: I hope that they never remake this show.
I certainly agree with you. I hope it's NEVER remade or rebooted. Not just because of God, but because I JUST CAN'T SEE anyone else this but Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell. (Although I did like the YouTube QL movie, "A Leap To Di For".)
Re: I hope that they never remake this show.
My brother and I are both mid-30's males, and we're talking yesterday about remakes, which we both absolutely despise, however in unison we both said that if they had the right casting, this would be the one show we would both love to see rebooted.
Again, casting would be key, and I can't see anyone right now playing either role.

Re: I hope that they never remake this show.
I hope they avoid a remake because I can't see anybody but Scott and Dean in the roles. It's perfect as it is. If people want to watch Quantum Leap in 2016, let 'em watch the reruns.
Re: I hope that they never remake this show.
Yeah except god wasn't leaping him around, he was leaping himself around.
Re: I hope that they never remake this show.
If they were to remake or reboot it I don't see why they couldn't have Scott Bakula return as Sam. If I remember right they said he never did leap back home so wouldn't he still be leaping from person to person? The new show could just pick up x number of years later.
I hope that they never remake this show.
Does my back hurt because I have bad posture or do I have bad posture because my back hurts?
