Death in Paradise : Ardal O'Hanlon will replace (spoilers)

Sad to to see Humphrey go, but will give the new one a fair chance.

I like Ardal but it will likely take a while until we adjust to his character being the new DI. Hope he gets on with the lizard!

It'll be nice to see Ardal back on telly, but, Humprey has made the show his own and I'll miss him. Disappointing

He did, it's almost like he's been there since the beginning. I'm trying to be optimistic but I'm just as disappointed he's going. Maybe even a little gutted.

Am truly gutted he's going really enjoyed his more relaxed version.
Loved Ben miller and was the same when he left so am hoping in time we will grow to love Ardling .
Do we think know hump will get a happy ending in London?

I would love to see a spin off with Humphrey. I would definitely watch. I am quite sad as well.

A spin off in England would be great. We'd have the best of both worlds then. Kris Marshall is so good as a detective

I'm surprised at how gutted I actually am at him leaving. He's grown to be one of my favorite characters currently on telly and is a joy to watch. Won't be the same without him. I liked his relationships with Florence, JP, Dwayne and the Commissioner aswell. Great chemistry

I hope he'll have a happy ending (probably with Martha) and not the dreadful ending Poole had. Perhaps then he could pop up again one day hopefully

I agree. That's if Death in Paradise survives. Right now I truly don't even want to watch it after he leaves. The new detective didn't appeal to me that much. It seems like he may try too hard.

Absolutely. I was devastated when Insp Poole was killed - I almost stopped watching. So glad I stuck with it as Humphrey has been great. I think Ardal has potential.

Gutted! I love Kris Marshall. I can't believe he has gone. :(

Me neither. I had no idea he was leaving untill half way through the episode. It became clear that he was going to stay in London with Martha and that the new guy was going to take over as the lead actor. I didn't like the new guy. I think he's very bland and annoying. I haven't heard anything about season seven, but even if it is renewed, I won't be watching anymore. It's a real shame because I really enjoyed the show. I can understand that Kris Marshall wants to spend more time with his family, but I will really miss Humphrey.

People said the exact same thing when Ben Miller left the show. And the show is still going strong. Give the new guy a chance. He has to get some chemistry going with the other actors and also get comfortable in the role.

I didn't know anything about Kris Marshall leaving, so the staying in London bit of this episode really caught me off-guard, but I'm okay with it because I like Ardal O'Hanlon's character and I'd found myself wishing they would find a way for Jack to be a recurring one.

I was devastated when Ben Miller left, but warmed to Kris Marshall by the end of his first episode. I was devastated when Sara Martins left, but warmed to Josephine Jobert right away. Since I already like Ardal O'Hanlon and his character, I'm looking forward to his episodes, even though I'm sad to see Kris Marshall go. And if Siobhan sticks around we may even be getting a new character to love!

I liked Ben Miller and I was sad when he left the show, but I already knew Kriss Marshall and liked him. I have never seen that new guy before and I didn't like his character in the last two episodes. I will watch the remaining two episodes of this season, but after that I'm done with this show. This is the second time that they have changed the lead character and I think it's once too many. The show hasn't been renewed yet and I'm not sure it will. I quess the BBC wants to wait and see if the ratings will stay the same.

I thought the change over was very well done (actually brilliant), and now looking forward to see what Ardal O'Hanlon brings to the part.

Had the same feeling when Hunprey replaced , but he made the part his own and the show continuede , hope the new guy does as well.
Will give him a chance , see how it goes
