The actress passed away. In he movie Henry moved on to her friend.

The actress (Gina Mastrogiacomo) passed away in 2001, so her absence during the latter part of Goodfellas likely has another cause.

You remember when Henry was in jail and Karen got angry with him because she saw her name in the register? Henry most likely told Janice that she either had to stop coming to see him, "or else"...or perhaps he informed the guards that were in his pocket to no longer let her in to see him. Anyway, Henry was in the Mob, and she probably had no choice but to abide. Strange however that he would bring one of her friends (Sandy) in on the drug operation.

the vice of infidelity doesn't just leave someone. Henry's lifestyle required him to have a girlfriend (for appearances but also because it's part of how he lives). the look he and Sandy gave each other years back made it clear they were sexually interested so he saw it as a perfect opportunity to move onto Janice's friend Sandy. Janice was essentially ruined with Karen knowing where she lived and freaking out over that specific woman. a new chance with a new girl for a guy who didn't know how to be any other way

I dont know but I didnt find Janice attractive at all. Maybe I am in the minority, Karen to me looked hotter and even the friend of Janice that Henry hooked up with later was hotter.

I agree with you the first time I saw this I was like wait he's cheating on his wife with this one? His wife and sandy were definetly more attractive . In my opinion.

However, I'm not sure if that's the case with Henry and Janice Rossi, remember after Karen confronted him with the gun he was ready to leave her for Janice. When Paulie came to tell him that he had to go back to Karen, Henry was at Janice's apartment.

That, IMO indicates he really was conflicted about who he really wanted to be with. Had Janice just been some whore he'd have never allowed her to threaten his marriage. He'd have dropped her as soon as Karen got suspicious.

I don't remember a conversation taking place that Henry wanted to leave Karen for Janice?? Only Paulie telling him that he would go back to Karen, go on holiday and patch things up. I thought they were just discussing how to 'handle' the situation as Karen had gone so psycho. Divorce was mentioned too but again i thought they were just weighing up how much of a threat she could be and the best way to deal with her which Paulie decided (also Jimmy was going nuts that Karen was calling his wife constantly about it) was getting Janice out of the picture and Henry playing dutiful husband without a girlfriend for a while.

I have to question Paulie's sincerity in all of this. I doubt that he really cared in a lot of ways. Paulie's biggest fear and probably the fear of most ranking mob guys is Karen turning up dead or missing would drive dozens of mob wives to seek deals with the government in exchange for protection. Also, for the sake of bagging future women the second a woman knew a guy was involved with the mob would send them running away. Similar reasoning in Casino with not getting involved with the wives of other mob figures. Nobody gives a darn personally but moves such as that destabilizes an organization in short order.

Tommy's Goomah looked way more hotter and classier than Janice. She was the one who thought about interracial sex with Sammie Davis Jr. making Tommy almost flip his lid.
