It was part sawn, so it didn't take much for it to finally break. It does look sawn, but I believe you also see a saw somewhere although I didn't spot it.

Well it wasn't just kids, it was that whole family from the reel..
I haven't seen it in awhile but I think they reveal that the daughter of the hanged family was up higher in the tree, reaching down with a saw, and cut the branchhope that helps!

It is being sawn. You can see the handle going up and down until it finally breaks and falls.

The first time I "saw" it I thought I saw a saw falling on the side but couldn't see who was using the saw. And I was t even trying to use the word saw that much lol.

that's because the girl is purposely hidden when the shot is viewed earlier in the movie to hide the "twist" of the who kills the families

It was sawed by the girl. You see her climbing down from the tree at the end when Oswalt plays the 'extended' movie clips he found in the envelope. You don't see her in the original movie shown in the beginning.
