My Life : OK, stole this from the notebook thread

OK, stole this from the notebook thread

But they listed the five movies that break your heart, My Life is so number one. Here is my list

Number one, no question about it

My Life when the Dad leans in and says "better late, than never" I choked.

Pay it Forward I don't know if is so much the movie as it is the haunting "Calling all Angels" at the end.

Steel Magnolias Holy crap, like a roller coaster, up down, cry, scream.

The Story of Us Just because it is so, so real and I want to go to Chow Funs.

Terms of Endearment - I would be the manic mother screaming for my daughters shot. That just breaks me.

And even though it is not a movie, the series ending of Six Feet Under had me thinking about it for days

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

Steel Magnolias Holy crap, like a roller coaster, up down, cry, scream.

You forgot laugh - "Lasughter through tears is my favorite emotion" :)

Anyways, here's my 5:

Stepmom - Jena Malone breaks my heart every time in that scene at the end, and I had to see my mother through a cancer battle so it hits me SO hard. Thank God she survived it.

The Fox and the Hound - great story, I saw it on VHS right around the time my then-best-friend moved away (I was 3), and it just left me bawling

Steel Magnolias - my dad's diabetic and my mom couldn't even watch this movie all the way through for the first few weeks after she bought it.

not a movie but NOOZLES series finale - I was 5 when Blinky had to leave Sandy forever, and it made me cry

My Girl - they just spring that friggin' death on you out of nowhere, and it still traumatizes me every time.

but it must be good. Ebert and Roeper gave it 2 thumbs up

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

Once Around with Holly Hunter and Richard Dryfus. Very good movie. The kind of movie that's not predictable (a complete necessity for my "best" lists.) Rent it; it's great.

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

Okay, I don't know if I have a list of movies I cried like a baby while watching. Although I am a guy, I can put Terms of Endearment on my list, but there is one that comes to mind. I'm surprised no one has thought of it yetSimon Birch!

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

What Dreams May Come

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

A Walk To Remember - Shane West can make a girl cry
The Notebook - no comments needed.
Wuthering Heights - The mtv version was even more emotional as everyone's love story was broken.
The episode in Charmed when Cole first dies and Phoebe is cried cuddled by her sisters.
The Horse Whisperer - the whole horse thing, then the mom falling inlove with the trainer ah!!!

I was gonna take over the world but then I go distracted by somethi

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

I loved this one: "Lorenzo's Oil"..Seen it many times and every time it can make me cry again and again! Part of it is the touching story of the little boy, the other part is the brilliant (in my opinion) acting of Susan Sarandon and Nick Nolte..Just see it! It's worth it from beginnig to the end!!!

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

Lest we forget

Harold and Maude.

And I almost hate to say it, but the last three minutes of "Saving Private Ryan" belongs in the list as well.

Series ending of Six Feet Under They couldn't have picked a better song than "Breathe Me", just for the way the intensity of the song grows with the scenes they showed.

My Life Damn. I still can't believe this is the same guy who was "Mister Mom" and "Johnny Dangerously"! (And Batman, for that matter!)

Just my $.02

The Summer of My German Soldier made me cry harder than any movie I'd ever seen.

After that would be Titanic, the first Highlander, Love Story, and Terms of Endearment.

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

Is this thread restricted to movies made since 1985???

Many anti-fur protests, few anti-leather. Seniors & models must be easier to bully than bikers.

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

I don't think so. Three of the movies I listed were made before '85 and nobody has said anything about it.

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

I find it pretty funny, I've never cried during a movie, but movies that have almost made me cry emotional tears, are funny ones, like Click and the Simpsons movie, like when during Click, when you find out Adam's dad died, and you see the last time he saw his dad, that was sad, and during SM, when Homer was watching Marge's video, saying she taped over their wedding video and then it cuts to them dancing at their wedding while "Close to you" is playing, ha

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

A.I. When David dies in his mother's arms at the end, combined with listening to Epiphany by STAIND on the ride home, I had tears in my eyes on the way home

Anne of Green Gables: As a previous poster had put it, when Matthew died, I cried a bit in front of my best friend and some of my classmates too

Homeward Bound: Alot of scenes with Shadow brought some tears to my eyes.

I hope this isn't relegated to anything animated outside of Disney stuff because I've some anime and video games that have made me cry quite a bit when I first saw them

warning potential spoilers

Kingdom Hearts 1: when Sora has to say goodbye to Kairi and she sheds a tear in their secret place after seeing him vanish

Samurai X: Reflection/Rurouni Kenshin Seisouhen: Most of the movie was a tear jerker for me, from watching the pained expression on Sanosuke's face seeing his friend the way he is, to watching Kaoru and Kenshin limp towards each other and collapse into each other's arms, just brought on the waterworks for me

Naruto: no matter how many times I see it, watching Zabuza slowly die and say his last words to Haku always gets me choked up inside

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Watching and listening to Rei speak her last words as she prepares to blow up her mech to kill the parasitic angel that's killing her always gets my eyes even more wet

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: The scenes of Link being forced out of his home and saying goodbye to Saria, and when he conquers the Forest temple and finds out that since Saria is now a sage, he may never be with her again and the line: Saria will always be your friend gets me all the time

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

1. My Life, this is also my favorite movie
2. Beaches
3. Stepmom
4. My Girl
5. Steel Magnolias

I also always cry at the end of Rudy, when they start chanting his name. It's not a sad movie but it always gets me.

Pay it Forward was horrible at the end, I normally don't mind a sad ending but I have never been able to watch that movie again.
Simon Birch was sad but you kind of expected it

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

The ending for Stephen King's The Mist.
Well this movie doesn't make me cry but I do feel very, VERY sad for the character, it's such a messed up ending!

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

One of the first movies to have me crying hysterically was Stella with Bette Midler. I sobbed for a long time after watching that movie. I feel teary now even thinking about it.

Re: OK, stole this from the notebook thread

Schindler's List - The scene with Schindler sobbing uncontrollably about wasting so much of his money and how he could have saved more, while the Jewish people are wrapping their arms around him to comfort him gets me every single time I watch this movie.

Antwone Fischer - The scene at the end when his wish is fulfilledeating a large meal with his whole family.

Finding Neverland - The play is put on for the dying mother. Truly touching.

Freedom Writers (multiple scenes) - The student reading from his journal about how the class has become like a home to him; the woman who hid Anne Frank and comes to visit the students and telling them that they are the real heroes.

Dances With Wolves - Wind in His Hair telling Dances With Wolves, "do you not see that I will always be your friend?!"
