Ronald Colman : My Mom thinks he is HOT

She talks about him all the time. I think she wants to make whoopie with him.

He had easily the most beautiful eyes in the classic Hollywood era! Colman was an exceptionally handsome, talented man, and woefully underrated.

Ronald Colman has NEVER been underrated! He always has been considered among the finest actors of all times and certainly one of the greatest voices. It's true that the average moviegoer might not know him, but they also tend not to know such brilliant actors as Paul Muni and Fredric March.

However, anyone who knows anything about movies knows how highly praised Colman is. His voice/cadence has been copied by many people, from fellow actors in movies to standup comics (obviously latterday ones).

I just had to correct that "underrated" comment. His performances still awe viewers, and many of his films remain available. It says something that EPIX On Demand (free cable service) has begun offering older films, starting with three vintage films that include "The Devil to Pay!" (1930), starring Colman, Loretta Young and Myrna Loy. Hooray! He's simply stunning in this and very funny!

Colman was elegant, stylish and handsome with a wonderful speaking voice. He made the ladies go weak at the knees.

Ronald Colman was the first one to personify the English gentleman. Everyone else [Clive Brook, Herbert Marshall, Leslie Howard, David Niven and Rex Harrison] followed his lead.

There was always a lookout for the next Ronald Colman. Even Laurence Olivier got roped into it for a while.

What made Colman great was his combination of good looks, wonderful voice and great acting talent.
