this is such an idiotic film, renee doesn't even sing the songs herself!

Yes, some of these comments are unbelievably stupid. I never dug rock n roll, but I enjoyed this film for its 'sociology' look at the 50s, the attitudes and uptight reactions to the new freedoms. I didn't know Renee was in movies before becoming Tom Cruise's girl in that film where he is a sports agent. She was fantastic in this earlier movie, incredibly talented and charismatic. Loved her red hair too!

I miss Big Band music and talented singers. Leonard Cohen is my idol. Civility, harmony, unity!
