George Brent : Why Does He Seem to Be Forgotten?

Why Does He Seem to Be Forgotten?

I enjoy his films so much, particularly The Rains Came. But if you mention him to a lot of people, unlike a lot of 40's stars, they won't know who he was.

This positively infantile preoccupation with bosoms!Terry-Thomas about US 1963.Hasnt changed much!

Re: Why Does He Seem to Be Forgotten?

Sadly, he's seldom remembered or taken into account even among classic film fans, except when discussing Bette Davis movies. I, for one, like him a lot. He's by far one of my most favorite of that era, and I reckon he was and still is very underrated. Always so handsome, relaxed and charming, I would take him any day over other better known ones such as, for instance, Cary Grant.

One of mine too. I especially liked him Spiral Staircase and Jezebel. He just exuded class and dignity

Indeed. Liked him in both movies, also. Recently re-watched The Rains Came, in which he was terrific, as well.

I know what you mean. For my part, I only discovered him about 7 years ago and found him strikingly handsome and with a commanding presence. An extremely attractive man with a lot of sex appeal.
