Isn't it better to live on and prove yourself?

Yeah, a real celebration is in order. He had more going for him than most people, and kills himself due to a short period of depression.I'm sure the family is popping champagne right now.

Well I'd expect such sarcasm from people who don't understand. There are two types of suicidal ones that don't want it, and others that do. The ones that don't want it are the ones that go around telling other people about it these are the ones that want help, that want others aware of their suffering. The 2nd type are those who do it. and to those people, they want it.
You might think you know that he had everything going for him based on what you know of him but you can never know how a person feels on the inside. I say if he wanted to die that badly then good for him, at least he knew what he wanted and went out on his own way. I'm not saying people should be happy about it he died and I'm sure he'll be missed. but on a personal level I'm glad he made his own choice and ended whatever was causing him pain on his own terms.

Yeah, I don't understand! Haha I wish I didn't understand.
So, how do you know about these 2nd group of people - they're all dead!

Because I enjoy life, I have no reason to. not sure why people think suicide is always a bad thing.

Just a couple of reactions that might sound like quibbles to you.
First of all, "he" is not free of it because "he" no longer exists.
Secondly, if he were on a mood drug that made him feel mildly euphoric all the time, do you think he would have made the same "choice"?
I question what you consider "choice" in this case.
Killing yourself when you're in great pain and your imminent death is certain can be construed as rational choice. Killing yourself under the neurochemical influence of severe depression, absent other factors, is not a matter of rational choice.

Re: Congrats on ridding yourself of the pain, glad you're free of it now
ok, sure, I'll take the bait - why not
Let's ignore the suicide act itself.
Are you happy that this person was experiencing so much pain or torment or whatever that he desired death?
You can't have suicide without the path leading to the suicide. It's never a simple subject & people do tend to have an unecessarily stock response to suicide, but I think we should all agree that it's sad when people's lives or their mental health or their emotions bring them to the point where the only relief is self inflicted death.
I'm happy that this guy made his choice, it was probably better for him in the end, as sad as it may seem for those of us living.

Perhaps a long shot here, but the original poster BALBOAFAN might be suicidal and trying to justify it by making it "OK" or a choice. But in the end one needs more courage to live than to kill himself.
