Saul Rubinek : His face

His face

I noticed that like the left side of his face is droopy and his right side isn't. Like his lips are almost shut on the left side. Did he like have a stroke or something??

Re: His face

I first noticed that in True Romance. Although I thought it was part of his character. I assumed that half of his face was numb, from cocaine abuse, which is known to happen. But I just saw "BaadAsss" today and I noticed he has it there too.It could be from a stroke.

Re: His face

Yea, I saw it in alot of movies. Do you think he did drugs in the past?!

Re: His face

I just happened to be watching a 1980 episode of the Littlest Hobo and he was on it minus the scar, so what ever happened, occurred after 1980.

Re: His face

I'd read that Stallone's came from his facial nerves being severed by foreceps as he was being born, probably a C-section.

@lunch_Re:sly stal face nerves were severed @ birth during c section

Where did u read that?

Re: His face

Yeah, that's what Jackie said. I laughed so hard when she said it because she was so earnestly defending him. But it seems that it was Bells' palsy.

There's a long list of actors who've suffered it. It was a similar question about a current actress that led me to that, I'm frustrated I can't remember who 'cos she's one of my favourites. Something about filming only her right profile until she recovered.

Pardon the thread resurrection, but I believe the reason Stallone's face is the w5b4ay it is is because the doctor pulled him out of his mother with forceps. They were around his skull and I think they damaged nerves on his face.

And according to another thread here, Mr. Rubinek has Bell's Palsy.

Re: His face

I have Bell's Palsy myself, so I recognized Saul Rubinek's even through the beard he wore in "Barney's Version." For most people (like George Clooney, who had it as a child and Alexis Denisof, who contracted it during the filming of the 5th season of "Angel") all symptoms eventually go away. In my case and in the case of Mr. Rubinek, they clearly did not.

Re: His face

I watched Against All Odds last night and he looked fine, so if something did happen with Saul it had to have happened around or after 1984.

Re: His face

There is another thread about him having Bell's Palsy which seems like it would be correct.
