So when Nordstrom say it was a business decision, not political decision, to drop Ivanka Trump merchandise - they have the numbers to prove it.
If those numbers are accurate and I think they are, then it is a good move for them.

The numbers are from research firm Slice Intelligence which studies data from on-line sales and some brick and mortar stores. They're accurate. And I still believe Ivanka had access to these numbers (for Christmas season) by the end of December - which is why she left her company so quickly.

Fact: Nordstrom saw a 63% drop in sales for Ivanka Trump, as did others
Here are the facts:
Nordstrom in-store sales fell 63% for the all-important fourth quarter of 2016 (Christmas season) compared to fourth quarter 2015. January 2017 fared no better. (Nordstrom says only 21% of their revenue is from on-line sales).
Nordstrom.com reported a 26% decline in sales for January, 2017 compared to January, 2016.
Zappos.com saw a 43% drop in sales for fourth quarter 2016, compared to 2015.
amazon.com saw a 31% drop in sales for fourth quarter 2016, compared to 2015.
Macy's saw a 30% increase in the fourth quarter over the year prior, but that increase was not as big as the fourth quarter increases of 2015, or years prior. 2016 showed the smallest increase in sales.
Same with Bloomingdale's which saw a 9% increase in the fourth, the smallest increase in years.
So when Nordstrom say it was a business decision, not political decision, to drop Ivanka Trump merchandise - they have the numbers to prove it.
