Given "the basket of idiots" the RNC had to choose from, as I said months ago, Trump was reluctantly viewed as the convenient, populist, but more importantlyonce usedexpendable "Trojan Horse" for core Conservatives.
The prospect of Ryan and Pence doesn't provide much solace nor reassurance though. Those two are extremists.
At present, we have a narcissistic buffoon at the helm. As with the general election, we're once again between a rock and a hard place. What to do? First on the agenda is for all voters to bone up on their own local issues. Secondly, acquaint themselves with the art of compromise and revel in its positive consequences.
But, if nothing else, do their due diligence so in the future they won't find themselves in the position of having to defend the indefensible.

I'm not sure about the first, I hope not the second alternative you offer. I have a feeling Pence and Ryan will talk him into resigning at some point, not too far off in the future.

Odds of Trump freely resigning probably took a nose dive with him losing the popular vote. Now he has a motive to run for re-election.

No, I don't think he will be impeached. I think he will quit if he sees that an impeachment is imminent, like Nixon. That way he can save face & his fragile ego won't be damaged. He would want the people to think it was his idea to step down (even if it isn't).

Trump is One we all know from the neighborhood, school or the job. The spoiled brat/bully/coward (no matter the age) who comes in sizes up a group of people then takes over and decides to create hate & separate with lies and speculation about one & all-except him or herself of course. That only works when people don't talk to each other, support each other & speak out. We'll we're speaking out and standing up. Along with we the people, judges, lawyers, police officers & even boarder patrol agents are standing against Trump. A woman was put on a plane to be sent back to where she'd flown in from. The plane was taxing to take off when the pilot was ordered to turn around to let her off. Trump is right. We will make American great again in spite of him trying to divide those who do not support bigotry & hatred. We know his supporters want this country torn apart. Kudos to the world leaders who stand ready to all Peoples and are saying so. Shame on the Cowards on the Hill who are not.

Imo, it's sad when someone chooses to like or dislike others depending on their political views & whether or not they agree with you. Not only sad, not very Christian. (especially if pissing someone off gives you joy)

I always liked the Gatlin Brothers music. But Larry Gatlin did not approach the insulting, name calling stupidity of the leftie celebrities.

He did NOT call them names. He merely said that it was fun to see liberals and progressives p#ss and moan about everything. He didn't call them bad names. He is just enjoying their angst.

Admittedly, schadenfreude is not so nice. I don't consider it hypocrisy. But I do indulge in a bit of it.
