Micky Dolenz : part in Halloween

I just saw the new movie Halloween, and was surprised to later find out he had a part in it. I don't remember seeing him. Which character was Derek Allen?

I read someplace (don't remember where) that he played the gun salesman.

I LOVE Micky- and Malcolm McDowell- but I hear that "Halloween" is terrible.

Halloween couldn't be terrible, it was #1 it's opening weekend. I haven't seen it yet, so I guess it's a matter of personal taste. But it's unfair to judge a film without seeing it first.

I hope this is a joke. If not, your rationale makes no sense. Many films are #1 their opening weekend, but that doesn't guarantee they are not terrible. It also doesn't guarantee they will be ultimately successful. "Soul Plane" may have been #1 it's opening weekend (I don't know if it was. I'm just making a point), but that movie is GARBAGE. Rob Zombie's "Halloween" isn't terrible by any means, just pointless and unnecessary.

Yeah well it's also a horror film. Horror films are always #1 and the also suck 9 times out of 10.

He was the Gun Shop Dealer, they scuffed him up to look older. I was very surprise when I saw him.

Yeah I was totally shocked to see him too! I don't think they "scuffed him up to make him look older" thoughhe looked dirtierand grittierbut sadly, he just hasn't aged well! :(

What a bizarre acting choice for him. Zombie loves using actors from the 60s and 70s though. Guess someone has to keep them employed.

Micky didnt choose the part . Rob Zombie was fan and got a hold of Micky's agent and booked him for the gig. Micky described it as a small part were he dosent die or dosent kill anyone. though fans who have s cene it says he throughs a few f bomb s. yes he is the gun shop owner. micky just did a interview were he talks about it, and thats what he said. least he wasnt board doing the part. I think micky looks great these days.

I noticed him right away. I got all exited. Of course no one else I was with knew who he was. Gosh, teenagers these days.

thats not why. micky said himself in an interview it i s cause the director is a friend and booked him wit hhis agent for the role. what i thin k is f unny is people paying all that money ot watch this m ovie on pay pervioew and he was only it for 5 minutes.

I thought Mickey Dolenz' cameo was awesome in RZ's Halloween - 16d0a movie that's already full of cameos. I'd hoped it would have launched a B-movie career for Dolenz, but it was not to be. He's got a face and a voice for character roles.

(I agree with the poster that says he hasn't aged well, but that can work for some male actors - look at the other "Mickey". . .Rourke!)

If I ever go down, I hope I don't get the Potato Judge.
