Angelina Jolie : WTF? Refugee crisis……Where is she?

Due to the fact that the new POTUS is un-American, and apparently we are all currently living in the twilight zone, there is now this new type of Refugee crisis and discrimination so where is Ms. Jolie?

This is her cause and I know she does not hold a public office and is not a politician or an attorney but why is she being so silent now about this?

I know John Voight supports Trump but she is not him and she should not be silent now, either

not at a time when everyone is speaking up and doing what they can


Who cares if she divorced Brad Pitt? That's no reason to hide and be silent about this

Even Hillary Clinton spoke up and said that 'this is not who we are' and she officially lost the election thanks to the Electoral College but hell she tweeted that

and she has expressed care and concern for Refugees in the past

I figured that was it and that the reason why she has been publicly withdrawn and even taken a step back from acting is because he is focused on being a mother to her children which is perfectly acceptable and understandable especially now after a divorce if she was granted primary custody she is probably being careful about putting their needs first

but she shouldn't allow for a divorce or not being in a marriage to shrink or diminish her or her capabilities

she has proven in the past to be engaged in civic duties and responsibility and globally conscious while being a mother

In fact, that would be a primary motivation for her to be involved precisely because as a parent she wants to do everything she can to ensure that this is a proper world for her children and future generations to grow up and thrive in

I still don't completely agree with her silence on this matter and I hope you are right that we will eventually hear from her about the refugee ban

No. "Politics" are now affecting "children's welfare" so you can't say that it's okay to bury your head in the sand because of some BS line that you think somehow separates the two because it doesn't!

Humanitarians should take up the issues that are humanitarian issues and this is one

Even Donald Trump himself recognized that the Syrian Refugee crisis was a humanitarian issue during his campaign when he said that the U.S. should accept Syrian refugees "on a humanitarian basis" and he obviously either has amnesia about this now or he is an unreliable, untrustworthy, alternative facts spewing liar!

If there has been clear recognition about this issue from him and Ms. Jolie then at least she should not forget and be diligent in trying to help this cause not just turn away because maybe now the issue is a little too close to home

The thing is though about that is that you can't say that you are going to be someone who only focuses on international issues and then completely disregard the U.S. when the U.S. has a global impact and is definitely a part of international issues as well

take this ban for example

it's affecting other people in other countries around the world and you cannot simply say that because the executive order came from the U.S. that it should be ignored that doesn't make sense

and even if she had a rule about staying out of domestic policies it is plain to see that everything that is occurring here is having a worldwide effect

Take the Women's March for example

that did not just happen in the U.S. it was a worldwide event

plenty of other respectable and popular actresses have jumped on board and even showed support
and it shouldn't be that all that is heard from Ms. Jolie are crickets

She should continue using her voice and image for these causes as she has over the past decade or so

I knew she had to say something about this because what really bothers me, besides the "temporary 120-day travel ban" and that the media went back and forth arguing with the administration about whether or not it is a "travel ban" is the fact that the new POTUS barred Syrian refugees from coming to America INDEFINITELY and people are not pressing him on this issue after he specifically said during his campaign that the U.S. should accept them on a "humanitarian basis." Nobody is talking about this and how he went entirely back on his word but I should have known he would do that because when he said that during his campaign it got my attention because it was probably the one decent thing I ever heard him say throughout his entire campaign and so of course now he would renege. The man has zero integrity which is unfortunate for everyone.

As expected, she speaks the damn truth.
