The Dark Knight Rises : I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

After "The Dark Knight" and "Spiderman 2"this is the best comic book character movie for me. And certainlyit is the darkest!!!

You see a human Batmana guy suffering emotionally and physically.

The score is priceless!!

What a movie!!!

JANUARY 20, 2017the start of the debacle of the USA!

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

I saw this in the theater, I wanted my money back. This is still one of the worst high budget movies I've had the displeasure of sitting through. So many glaring flaws.

I really think this movie benefits greatly from the fervor whipped up by the height of interest in comic book movies.

There is a lot seriously wrong with this movie that people gloss over or try to defend as high art.

Honestly, it's crap.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

. This is still one of the worst high budget movies I've had the displeasure of sitting through.

You must not watch a lot of movies then.

There is a lot seriously wrong

No, not really. No more so than any other blockbuster action movie.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

Yes, I do watch a lot of movies. I am picky about where I spend in the theaters. When I say sitting through, I mean in the theater.

Yes, this movie is more poorly executed than many blockbusters. The issues, I know, have been listed ad nauseum on this forum. For me, this movie had more issues that pulled me out of the viewing experience and left me sitting there thinking about aggravatingly bad this movie was becoming.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

Than I doubt your claim of watching "a lot of movies".

All the eye-rolling nitpicks people try to pass off as actual problems?

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

It is a boring, badly written and ****ty movie, you're right.

I'm glad I didn't waste my money seeing it at the theater.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

Most definitely the greatest comic book movie ever made, most definitely the greatest 3rd entry ever made and in my opinion I ranked it as the 5th greatest movie of all time (behind Apocalypse Now, Pulp Fiction, The Godfather Part II and The Empire Strikes Back).

Lord of the Rings the return of the king is rated higher on imdb than TDKR is. It beat it on imdb, RT, MC, box office and in academy awards won. Sorry Hippo you need to face the fact that TDKR got beat by Return of the King. Therefore best third entry belongs to Return of the King.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

ROTK isn't a 3rd entry because LOTR isn't a trilogy, it's one movie. It is the first Middle Earth Film and it is followed by a Prequel called The Hobbit.

"I really wish Gia and Claire had became Tanner" - Honeybeefine

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

Wrong it is a third entry. Tolkien meant for the books to be one story. However he was dead before the films ever came out. Also critics as well as fans rated them as a separate entry. Therefore it is a trilogy. You yourself disagreed with Vince Gilligan about Walter White being a bad guy. That is the writer of breaking bad and he said Walter White is a bad person. So do not pretend you take a writer's word as gospel truth. In short you lost Hippo sorry. Just because you do not consider it a trilogy does not mean the rest of us can not. Funny thing is I wouldn't do this to you but you are notorious for shoving ratings in people's faces. Basically the only one ever allowed to disagree with the ratings is you.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

JR Tolkein does not consider LOTK a trilogy therefore it is not a trilogy because the movies are based off of the books. Plus the 3 segments do not have their own individual plots, it's all one plot/one story.

"I really wish Gia and Claire had became Tanner" - Honeybeefine

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

He was dead before the films came out buddy. He did not consider the book a trilogy. We will never know if he would have thought the movies were a trilogy. Second people and professional film critics judged them individually as single entries. Therefore according to critics and people it is a trilogy. Third Vince Gilligan considers Walter White a villain and you disagreed. He is the creator and writer of the show. So if you can disagree with a writer so can others. Don't be a hypocrite. If the writer's word is gospel truth then that means Walter White is in fact a villain.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

The movies were based on the books, therefore you can assume that Tolkein's view on the book applies to the movie.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

Assumption is not the same thing as fact now is it? Answer the question for me. Is Walter White a villain since Vince Gilligan said he is?

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

Before I answer anything I'd like a link to this so called interview.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

There you go.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

And surprise surprisethe Hippo goes into his shell until you can find some way to slither out of this one.

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

Well I would say that it's not a black and white issue, Walt did some morally questionable things and he did some heroic things, that may be how Vince Gilligan interprets his character and that is his opinion and he's entitled to it, however I don't think it's a simple good vs. evil decision, I think different people can see Walter White in different ways.

As for Tolkein, there is no way LOTR is a trilogy, even if we disregard Tolkein's word a trilogy has a beginning, a middle and an end, each entry has its own individual plot although can follow a central plot across the entire trilogy. LOTR isn't like that, it's all one movie/story, the only reason it was released in 3 pieces is because it's too damn long, no one wants to sit through a 9 hour movie.

Actually, in some trilogies the movies aren't even connected by plot, only by themes. And they're still trilogies.

No one wants to hear what your biased ass has to say. Classic you crawl under a rock when someone has proven you wrong. It explains why you refuted TDK being considered one of the best films in cinema history. In case you want to accuse me of providing no proof. Here it is my friend.

Oh you are the one that needs to grow up. Read the data and weep! You can not dispute the data and will not provide any of your own. Remember how you said Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor was objectively better than Heath Ledger's Joker? Pretty moronic to say because there is no way to prove which character is objectively better. It is all a matter of opinion. You have every right to think he is better but you can not make that claim objectively. If it were objective you would be able to back it up with a fact and you can not. I can make the objective claim that TDKR beat Batman v Superman in ratings. That is an objective fact. Whether you or I like TDKR or not it beat BVS in ratings on every sector. Learn the difference between subjective and objective next time!

Re: I saw it after 4 years….still outstanding!!

Finally resorting to insults, what a surprise. You know, for a moment there I thought your reply would be on topic. What's particularly ironic is that just a few posts ago you were bitching about Hippo's insistence in closing his eyes to the world around him in an effort to keep telling himself that a movie he loves is also considered one of the best ever made in cinema history, resorting to questionable data as backup, twisting all sorts of facts and generally ignoring logic and common sense. I don't know if you're an hypocrite or simply too naive too notice that that's exactly what you keep doing. The difference is that Hippo kind of grows on you, he doesn't seem to take himself that seriously and his posts can be kind of amusing. Plus he doesn't stalk you. You, on the other hand, are just annoying, holding a grudge over something completely trivial, hijacking thread after thread, repeating yourself while very straight faced stamping your foot not even realizing no one's taking you seriously. And all this time you have been digging third party opinions in an effort to disprove me?! For a post I made months ago and about which I never gave a second thought since then?! That's just pathetic, if you think I'm wrong then move on, lists and reviews won't prove something that can't be proved with lists and reviews. You won't change my view and you certainly won't change pop culture's history, but if you're so sure I'm wrong (as Hippo appears to think you are about TDKR) then good for you, just think of me as an ignorant, ignore me as such and move on. Quit being so insecure, quit being so nagging, because it's in part thanks to people like you that these boards are closing down. Grow up. Get a life. Stop hijacking threads. It's just a movie!

I was pointing out to Hippo how the best third entry according to the data is in fact Return of the King. That was all I was doing. Second how am I erasing pop culture's history? The Dark Knight was twitter's number one rated film in 2016. Did I make that up? Seems to me that a hole 8 years later the movie is still pretty relevant. I get sick and tired of people like you discrediting Nolan at every turn it is irritating. If you dislike TDK so much why do you keep on posting about it? I hate Pulp Fiction do you see me telling people over there how much I hate the film? I moved on because I prefer not to discuss it. You though make asinine claims about the film. You tried to say well it is a superhero film therefore it can not be considered one of the greats. That is completely false. If Lord of the Rings can achieve being one of the greatest films of all time then so can TDK. Films are measured by a lot of things. When a film fires on a ton of cylinders like TDK or Lord of the Rings it achieves cinematic greatness. You need to come clean and admit that your claim about Eisenberg being an objectively better villain was complete bullsh!t. You have a right to think he is a better villain but to say that it is objective makes you look stupid buddy.

See now it is fine to disagree with the writer because it does not validate what you say.

Trilogy definition.

1.
a series or group of three plays, novels, operas, etc., that, although individually complete, are closely related in theme, sequence, or the like.
2.
(in ancient Greek drama) a series of three complete and usually related tragedies performed at the festival of Dionysus and forming a tetralogy with the satyr play.
3.
a group of three related things.

http://www.dictionary.com/browse/trilogy

It simply has to fit one of those definitions to be a trilogy and it does. try again.

By the way this interview was conducted after Season 4, when Walt had reached the low point in his moral compass, Gilligan hadn't written/shot Walt's Redemption/Season 5 at this point.

Walt's character only gets worse in season 5. He has all the money he needs but insists on continuing the drug business. Anyhow remember Vince Gilligan claims that Walter White is a bad guy who has made horrible decisions. So much for you painting him as this hero.

1. What did Walt need to redeem himself of? You make excuses for every horrendous thing he does.

2. Walt kills Mike for no reason other than his previous little ego getting bruised in season 5. He was still being an awful human being in his "redemption season" as you call it

You see a human Batman

No, you see 'Nolan's knight', an imbecile who couldn't find his own ass with both hands and a Bat-ass detector.

An opinion is not offensive just because you do not agree with it.
