This will be Lynch's first real work in the HD era

If anyone can bring the surreal to the HD era, it's Lynch.

Film has been HD for a century.

And ironically it was shot on 35mm.

No, it wasn't. Lynch said, near the end of 2014, that it would be shot on film because its the best way to do it.

Then, in 2015, he said it is stupid to shoot something for TV on film because it ends up on TV anyway.

Interesting. That was a tough find but I think I found the article you're talking about. I for one kind of liked digital Lynch, but I think all his best work was done during his celluloid period (not related to medium though.) I'll be excited to see what he does on the Amira.

"Inland Empire" which was shot just on a MiniDV tape as far as I'm aware is pretty different from what this was shot with. I'm not familiar with the minute differences between HD and film, but it would have been nice had he shot this on film. Cost was probably a factor, though.
