The question is: If such a "modern retelling" were done, who would pay to watch it? A secondary consideration might be, "Could it be done as well as or better than the 1997 version?"

I think, if a remake was made, the writers could add more content before and after the events in the jury room. For example, the film could open with a montage showing each of the jurors receive the jury duty summons in the mail. Also, I'd love to see if Juror #3 tries to make amends with his son after the trial.

Can't say I really see the point. Neither 12 Angry Men (1997) nor 12 (2007) improved upon this version. The former hardly changed anything, and the latter missed the point of the story by doing away with the ambiguity.
