Love with the Proper Stranger : Timeline

Timeline

They do not have any kind of a Timeline. Natalie is thin from the start, it happened during the summer, they are wearing coats and appear to be cold the day go for the abortion; she wears dresses that have belts. Shouldn't she be showing at some pointa baby bump by the time he is standing out there with the "bells, banjo and sign"?

Re: Timeline

I agree and often thought the same while watching the movie. I know petite, thin women often do not begin to show until later in their pregnancy, but I also thought that at the end when they're having dinner in her apartment she should have at least looked a little pregnant by then. I still really love this movie and watch it often.

Re: Timeline

The time line is probably less than a month from her meeting him at the musicians union to the end. Plus this was a topic that they weren't all that willing to show that much reality or detail thus, no baby bump. It was still a distasteful subject then first the concept of abortion and second, a baby out of wedlock, and then third, a girl from a religious upbringing.

Theoretically, if their "summer" interlude took place at the end of August (or even Labor Day weekend (no irony intended) and we're 6-8 weeks out early november at the latest (wind, cold days) she wouldn't be showing anyway.

I know we all want detail. But it's a movie. from the early 1960s.

Re: Timeline

When Columbo was saying goodbye to Angie at her family's flat, he asked her if she was busy on Near Year Eve and that it was 9 months away. So the start of the movie had to be at the end of March, early April.
