Ferris Bueller's Day Off : Ferris Bueller doesn't need a sequel.

Ferris Bueller doesn't need a sequel.

If they made a sequel, Ferris would have been in college or be working at his first job and the same things would just happen again. The movie is perfect the way that it is, some sequels are not needed. Apparently John Hughes had an idea for a sequel being set in Hawaii, but it all fell apart because Matthew Broderick wasn't interested in reprising his role, also John Hughes had moved on, he made lots of other popular 80s flicks and he wasn't keen on sequels anyway, Hughes only ever did 1 sequel, he apparently had ideas for sequels to his movies but realised they would never work.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - A perfect film.

Re: Ferris Bueller doesn't need a sequel.

Agreed. All of these people thinking that a grown up Ferris Bueller would be trying to get a day off of work that is ridiculous. Any career Ferris would end up with would be like any normal career. When you need a day off you take one. The idea that Ferris would look into the camera and say something pathetic like "My boss has really been keeping an eye on my vacation days" is stupid.

Exactly.

Re: Ferris Bueller doesn't need a sequel.

Did Broderick hate doing this movie, or something? You said he didn't want to reprise his role, and I've heard he refuses to ever watch the movie. To this day, he's never seen it.

Re: Ferris Bueller doesn't need a sequel.

It's great on its own.
