Now that we know that IMDb has decided to disrespect its customers…

...closing the message boards, let's find a way to "hurt" them the most:

Closing our accounts massively?

Not entering the site ever again?

Sending complaints to IMDb advertisers?

Re: Now that we know that IMDb has decided to disrespect its customers…

It's all about money. Don't ever visit IMDb again, and never buy anything (or let your friends and relatives buy anything) from Amazon ever again. Start a campaign to get others to do the same. That's what you need to do.

Re: Now that we know that IMDb has decided to disrespect its customers..

I have paid a lot of money to amazon over the last 8 years. I bought all my movie dvds from them.

Did the boycott of Amazon work?

Re: Now that we know that IMDb has decided to disrespect its customers..

When I figure out how to get all my ratings from here to Letterboxd I will be deleting my account... Letterboxd is better than IMDB anyway (once the forums are gone from here)

Re: Now that we know that IMDb has decided to disrespect its customers..

Other than the reviews on letterboxd, where are the actual disussions? I only see reviews?

Re: Now that we know that IMDb has decided to disrespect its customers..

That is his point. Once IMDb gets rid of the message boards there are no discussions here so Letterboxd is a better site minus that option. The only thing putting IMDb ahead of it was the forums. Letterboxd you can reply to people's reviews and lists and stuff. But that is about it.

"No matter where you go, there you are."

Re: Now that we know that IMDb has decided to disrespect its customers..

I agree, Letterboxd is the best alternative. No trolls and really
insightful discussions and reviews on there. Unfortunately they don't have
general forums for genres like imdb does.

Re: Now that we know that IMDb has decided to disrespect its customers..

Where is the discussion option there? All I see are reviews, but no message board?

Re: Now that we know that IMDb has decided to disrespect its customers..

Thanks for the ideas my friends

Why must I be the center of attention here? Because I'm black?

There you are! Been a minute. Stupid IMDb… Only found this place the other day. Now, what were we talking about? What's your favorite seasoning salt?

Howdy /.! Am I pronouncing that correctly? So weird to see this format and the old smileys; feels like I've travelled in time. nimda did a hell of a job (re)creating this place.

Re: Now that we know that IMDb has decided to disrespect its customers..

/. is pronounced "slashdot." It's actually the logo of that website.

My revenge against IMDb is that I no longer submit any corrections, trivia, etc. They no longer deserve all that volunteer help.

Cheers. My first assumption, but hadn't ruled out the Droodle possibility.

Same fwiw. As they dropped any pretense at a sense of community, why bother helping out?

Everybody just needs to get over the boards closing. It's happening after long and hard consideration.

Libtard comment moderator gestapo. Yahoo, Reddit, and Quora are just as bad. On those sites they censor you if you go against the woke agenda, if they even let you comment at all.
