Sparkle : What's your favorite song from the movie?

I like all of them. But one of my favorites is "Jump".

i liked "jump" too! but my favorite was "lovin' you baby" and my favorite line in the song was ".just remember sparkle's number uno"!!! definately a mayfield a classic!

(Giving Him) Something He Can Feel. Actually Lonette McKee sung this herself and did a good job, but nothing compares to the "Queen" Aretha doing this soundtrack.

Still, I would like to see the original soundtrack on a CD now that the vinyl era has passed. What was that the name of the number Sparkle sings with the character played by Philip Michael Thomas? That was a beautiful song and moment. It deserves to be a hit even today.

I was severely dissapointed when the original movie soundtrack was replaced by an Aretha album as mucj as I adore Aretha Franklin. The late great Curtis Mayfield deserves no less than the best.

and for the record, the word "definitely" has no A in it.

I like them all, but I have to go with Sparkle's version of Precious Lord at Sister's funeral. I also like Sister singing Givin Up.

The entire "original" soundtrack is fantastic. My two favorite songs are "Jump" and "Look into your heart" (the Irene and Philip version).

The film is dated from the 1958 up to the early 1960s, but the music is definitely '70s disco. What was Curtis Mayfield and/or the producers of the film thinking?

My favorite song is and always will be Sister singing "Givin' Up (Is so hard to do)". Her voice is cracking and she looks ugly and I think it's some of the best acting in this movie.

"Hooked On Your Love". I remember that after seeing Sparkle for the first time, me and all of my lil girlfriends were singing, "What can I do, bump bump, with this feeling" for DAYS!

"Jump" is still a standout song for me. But I just watched the movie again tonight. And I really like "If You Look Into Your Heart". But all the songs are great, it's really hard to pick just one.

I love the whole soundtrack and I think it would have been nice if they released the movie version soundtrack. I love "Hooked On Your Love" that's my favorite on the soundtrack.

Actually, the song "Sparkle" from the Aretha Franklin soundtrack IS in the movie! I was just listening to the song and it hit me. This is the song thatw as playing when Stix and Sparkle kiss passionately after winning the talent show. It is the same song, only in a different key and is instrumental.

I agree with the OP, my favorite was "Jump"! You could clearly here my girl Irene singing! She sounds a bit like Tammi Terrell.

"Hooked on Your Love". Love the little hand move they do when they're saying "What can I do!" and just the the entire feeling of the song and those red dresses. Sister (Lonette McKee) took that one. Love this film soooo much.
