Philosophy : A theory I thought of involving karma and reincarnation
Re: A theory I thought of involving karma and reincarnation
Then somewhere in the world, someone who is your aunt incarnate from a previous life dies because of what you said.
That reads more like guilty conscience. There is no scientific proof that a previous life of someone who died (millions die daily) is linked to one's previous life.
How would one go about determining that? Why would one expend one's resources trying to do so? That is not living!

Of course it can't be proven. I'm just saying what if that is one of the ways in which the world works? Would you think twice about lying or wishing harm upon someone else?
Re: A theory I thought of involving karma and reincarnation
Seems legit.
Re: A theory I thought of involving karma and reincarnation
In order to answer the question must I believe in reincarnation?

So what? They'd just reincarnate again and I'd just as likely die and reincarnate because of when someone I used to be related to in a previous life lied about such a relative dying.
"Need" is just a fiction. As is "should", "must", "value" and "importance".
A theory I thought of involving karma and reincarnation
Let's say you want the day off work. Instead of claiming to your boss that you are sick, you decide to tell them you have to go to your aunt's funeral. Normally you wouldn't tell such a lie for fear of jinxing things, but you don't actually have an aunt OR an uncle because both of your parents are only children.
So, you tell the lie. Then somewhere in the world, someone who is your aunt incarnate from a previous life dies because of what you said.
