Grand Theft Parsons : Tarantino?

Tarantino?

Does anyone know why this film is included in a DVD box called "Touch of Tarantino"?

Re: Tarantino?

Because Tarantino once picked it up in a video shop and read the back then put it down and rented something else.

Re: Tarantino?

Gee, thanks.

Re: Tarantino?

Joking
I guess it was because it was it is an indie movie that is made on a shoe-string budget that did reasonably well in festivals.
Much like the genre that Tarantino kick-started with Reservoir Dogs.

Re: Tarantino?

I don't really know but in the end in the credits they have written his name in the "special thanks" part...

Re: Tarantino?

Well, I'm the writer and I don't know either.

So there you have it - absolutely no information at all, straight from the horses mouth...

Re: Tarantino?

Yeah I bought that boxset. Thought it was tarantinos script.

Re: Tarantino?

Nicest thing anyone ever said about something I've written.

Is the film really part of the box set? I assumed it was a mistake on the packaging, or something. Maybe I can get that house in the hills after all...

Re: Tarantino?

Yeah, I have that same box too, and this movie is in it. Haven't watched this one yet, mayby I'll go watch it now. :)

Re: Tarantino?

Hey there,
You may be a fraud, but if you are really Jeremy Drysdale I just want to say that I have stumbled across your movie tonight, am actually watching it right now, and am thoroughly enjoying.
Good work.
I had never even heard of this movie, which seems strange considering the cast.

How come you've never written anything else?

BTW, the IMDB rating is total *beep*
I've only watched about 45 minutes so far, but it's def in 8.5 range.

Re: Tarantino?

Well, that is most kind, mister Beetle1. I'm not a fraud - I'm not sure anyone would really want to impersonate me - and I have written many other things, it's just that they haven't actually been made. *Sigh* Although I do have three current projects on the go, each of which has a good chance...

Thanks for your kind words - I hope you enjoyed the end as much as you liked the beginning.

All the best, jd.

Re: Tarantino?

Unfortunately,
It is the beginning I haven't seen yet.
I keep catching it right as they are in the airplane hanger being berated by the cop.
Michael Shannon and Knoxville are both excellent.

Good luck with your projects. I will keep an eye on your profile to see if anything is a "go" in the near future.

Re: Tarantino?

This is the reason why I registered to IMDB. To find out why that film is on that box? Btw I watched it and liked it.

Re: Tarantino?

I was in the same situation, bought the boxset and wondered what that movie made there. However i watched it and liked it. But its still pretty wierd

Re: Tarantino?

wouldn't surprise me if he was some sort of producer maybe, or was just a fan of Parsons music since Tarantino has a huge love for older rock/country like Elvis and Cash.

or maybe it's a Knoxville thing, because he's also ex. producer for Killshot which had Knoxville in it(heard his scenes got left on the editing room floor) and he was a producer on Daltry Calhoun too.

Re: Tarantino?

yeah, i think Tarantino produces alot of Johnny Knoxville's movies---they're both from Knoxville

Re: Tarantino?

Well, I can confirm that he absolutely didn't produce this one!

I think he's just a fan...
