North & South : The Cat and Pat and Ima Chronicles 2011
Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles
That's brilliant! I'm sure you ladies will have a great time together.
Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles
I knew you were going to meet in US, but sorry for belated greeting I hope youll have a great time together! I remember how nice it was to meet Aryanne in Budapest last autumn, if only for a one day.
Take care Cat and Pat. Look forward to hear from both of you about your stay.
There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart.

That wonderful Pat! I'm so happy everything is going so well. I hope you have a great time together!

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Cat
I'm here! Yes, it's Cat rather than Pat this time. (It really does sound like a comedy double act, doesn't it? Well, I hope you believe it's me, anyway, you'll have to trust me - for some reason this board won't let me post a message on here under my own user name even if I access it from my own email account.
I'm just up, having slept like the proverbial log after being up for almost exactly 24h, I kid ye not - I kept saying I was going to bed but Pat & I couldn't stop talking! And I don't doubt that the next 5 days will be much the same. By the time I leave for Florida I might have no voice left! No, very unlikely.
Well, I'll sign off for now. One of us will doubtless be on later. Bye!

Pat & Cat! Wonderful to hear from both of you about the visit!
Good to hear that you're both getting on so well, it makes such a difference being together in person, so much nicer. (I know from when I visited Genie, that was fabulous!)
Look forward to hearing more.

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Pat
Hi everybody! Had a lovely day talking, I mean visiting, with Cat. We did some shopping (shoes, clothes [for me], and food) before heading to the scenic village of Skaneatles. I'm loving every minuteit's like we've hung out together forever!
Will let Cat post! Goodnight!

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Cat
Cat this time! (This is really rather weird, makes me feel I'm taking over someone else's identity)
Yes, it's been a fun day, very relaxing after such a long busy day yesterday. Pat's garden centre is just BEAUTIFUL, I could have bought so much there, but my case is already bulging, I have to go very easy on souvenirs! We got a couple of very nice snaps of the two of us on the pier at Skaneatles, courtesy of a guy who then proceeded to ask me quite a few questions about Scotland. One of us will upload them sometime. There was a heck of a wind so half my face is covered by my hair, not very dignified! Pat said it looked movie star-ish, but I pointed out that they have a light breeze behind them, not a choppy wind like that!
Bye for now!

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Cat
Yay, so exciting!!! I'm sure you two will have a blast!
Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Cat
So cool that you two writers got together! When RoosterCharmer and I met, I nearly got tongue-tied at first, there was too much to say. But in the hour or so that we had, things warmed up and we had lots to say and not enough time to say or think of it all. It sounds like you are making very good use of your time, even to the point of not sleeping. Who needs sleep anyway, huh?
Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Cat
It sounds like you are both having a wonderful time. Enjoy yourselves! Cat you should have taken an empty suitcase to bring back all those souvenirs!

So amazing how many people of this board have met! Thomas, I didn't even know you met up with RoosterCharmer!
That is fantastic and speaks to the power of this story told so well!
This is a fabulous board.
All this feel good just gave me an idea for a little "Cat and Pat" vignette
I'll be back to post it right here

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Vignette
Here it is! Have fun and let me know what you think. LOL
The Cat & Pat Vignette
Catriona Scot and Patricia de York entered the elevator in an elegant office building with glass faades and a gleaming interior of stainless steal and light wood on 880 James Street in Syracuse, New York, when they heard a furious male voice yelling: Stevens! Stevens! Smoking again? I warned you!. The two women looked at each other bewildered and bemused at the same time both thinking that non-smoking was apparently enforced very strictly in this company. And just as the lift door was about to close smoothly and silently a young man managed to squeeze through just in time. The sceptical looks he got from the women prompted him to growl: I have a temper! Cat and Pat exchanged another look. They understood each other without speaking and both knew that it was the rude yelling oaf that had just joined them in their journey up the floors. His voice was unmistakeable. Cat peeked at the man out of the corner of her eye. He was tall and broad shouldered. His strong jaw, his intense blue eyes still on fire from his confrontation just a minute ago, his thick short black hair, all added up to the undeniable fact that he was rather handsome. An impeccable dark suit and the perfect knot of his tie, Cat had always liked to notice small things, spoke for his attention to detail. Ding! The man got off five floors before the women reached their stop on the 22nd floor.
Marlborough Mills Publishing read a large sign when the elevator doors opened. The women stepped out into the fulfilment of their dream. At least that is what it felt like to them. They gave each other a quick squeeze of the hand and stepped up to the reception desk. The excitement to be standing here, in the halls of one of the most prestigious publishing houses in the world, for a meeting with John Thornton, the owner, finally caught up with them. It did not quite seem real to Patricia and Catriona that their project Milton Tales had managed to rouse the interest of Marlborough Mills Publishing. It was therefore the chic administrative assistant who did all the talking when she took the two friends into the room where the momentous meeting was to take place. And so they waited, too excited to speak.
John Thornton was running behind schedule. He was still thinking about the young woman in the elevator. Much as he tried, he couldnt get her long wavy hair and her fine eyes with long lashes off his mind. A set of bracelets had jingled around her wrist with even the slightest of her movements. The chance encounter lingered with him and made it difficult for him to concentrate on his upcoming meeting with two of the most promising writers he had come across in his career, Catriona Scot and Patricia de York. Their style was influenced by Gaskell and Austen, yet unique and fresh. Characters were flawed but loveable and so beautifully drawn that readers everywhere would fall in love with them just as he had. That two such talented writers had teamed up to produce this warm-hearted, engaging novel was also unheard of in the publishing world. Thornton had made some enquiries on the subject. There was no doubt in his mind that Patricia de York and Catriona Scot would soon be household names the world over. He was sincerely hoping that these two might be attended and accompanied by Marlborough Mills Publishing on their journey to conquer the literary world. He took a deep breath and opened the door to the meeting room.
To his utter amazement the CEO and owner of Marlborough Mills Publishing found himself shaking the hand of the young woman from the elevator. Of all people!: Im sorry your agent is ill. was all he managed to say while looking into the girls sparkling hazel eyes framed by dark lashes. It's nothing serious, I'm sure. He is just a little tired. Catriona replied mechanically while trying to regain the floor under her feet. The loutish stranger from the elevator was John Thornton? Pat instantly recognised the oaf as well and looked from her friend to her potential publisher and back flabbergasted at the surreal turn the meeting had taken before it even started. Pat cleared her throat, stretched out her hand and said as cool and collected as she could: Mr. Thornton, it is truly an honour and a privilege to meet you! John Thornton, roused to reality by Pats words, shook her hand and warmly insisted that the pleasure was his. All eventually put their minds to the discussion at hand, sat down at the table and the meeting proceeded with no further delay. The outcome was to everybodys satisfaction and a business agreement concluded the meeting.
When the time came to leave, Thornton shook Cats hand warmly: Miss Scot, let us part friends despite the poor first impression Ive given. As we become more familiar with each other, we may learn to be more understanding. Cat was only able to nod. Pat saved the day: We cant tell you, Mr. Thornton, how thrilled we are that you haven taken on the publishing of our work. Your excellent reputation proceeds you. Your literacy programme aimed at improving reading skills in schools everywhere has impressed both of us greatly. I have no doubt that our co-operation will be a good one. A relieved smile graced John Thorntons face when he thanked Pat for her kind words and shook her hand.
Guiding her stupefied and unusually silent friend out of the building, Pat couldnt help but smile. If she wasnt mistaken she had just witnessed the beginnings of something beautiful. And sure enough, when Cat returned to her usual good natured self the first thing she said was: Pat, I have met the man I will marry! Pat only replied: Well, that explains everything!. Both of them locked arms and laughed as they headed to the nearest bus stop.

High praise indeed! Thanks ladies!
Glad you liked it. After the idea for a plot (more like a plotty in this case probably lol), things develop quickly.

Whoa, I'm the new Margaret? (Yes, it's Cat this time. So he chose me over her? Cool. )
Coira, are you going to set yourself up as a rival to us? We both think that was very well written, much better than many published authors I've read. Are you going to try your own fanfic soon? And is this particular story going to continue?
It's been a VERY wet day here, but I had a lovely afternoon over at the home of Pat's sister & brother-in-law, who made us such a delicious brunch that I don't know how I'm going to manage anything at Pat's BBQ tonight, I feel like the fattened calfPat disappeared post-brunch to arrange things for the BBQ & I stayed around & answered loads of questions about Scotland from the family. It's been great fun. Talk to you later!

We're famous!!
Coira! That was so well done! Bravo! Cat and I were almost giddy reading about ourselves in our very own drama! Thank you so much!
Earlier, we were looking for a birthday card for my sister who just turned 58 and found one that said, "You're the author of your life" Cat said, "Noo, we're the authors of other people's lives." Upon our return home, we discovered ourselves to be the main characters in a wonderful drama althoughI suspect Cat wants you to make my character "get lost" for a while, lol! I think she wants a private interview with Thornton!
Well, thanks again, Coira! You've made our day! Looking forward to the next installment!
Thanks for all the well-wishes, ladies! Off to pack for Niagara Falls!

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Vignette - Pat
Cat again, trying desperately not to yawn - it's 5:55 & I've been awake for almost an hour, we wanted an early start but once I woke at 5:05 I thought, "What's the point in trying to sleep for 25 mins?" So I got up & fairly quickly made my suitcase a bit neater - everything I've worn in the last couple of days had been packed at the bottom so all my stuff was rather crumpled. Looks better now. What you can accomplish when you get up early!
Coira, I thought about your story for the 5 mins or so between going to bed & falling asleep. A published writer, working alongside a great friend, & (perhaps) on the verge of a relationship with JT? That's about as close to my ideal life as you could get! I REALLY hope you continue it. (But do me one favour - nothing graphic between me & JT, alright? Kisses, cuddles but that's it. Ooh, I'm going off into daydreams now, if I'm not careful I'll fall asleep again & Pat will have to drag me into the car so we keep to our schedule of getting to Niagara! Then again, it's raining outside, cue an immediate cold shower!
Well, I'd better go & get some breakfast, we're hitting the road very soon. Talk to you ladies tomorrow!

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Vignette
We're famous!!
Yes you are!
Which brings us right to the next and final installment of this vignette:
Pat & Cat go on to become successful authors. Their publisher is DROP DEAD gorgeous. His literacy programme "A-NI-MAL: How to wake up the literary tiger in your mind" continues to be a huge success. John and Cat will get married and have 10 lovely children. (I'll leave it entirely to Cat how she achieves THAT without "anything graphic between her & JT"!!! Muhahaha ) (Just kidding Cat!)
And: The end. Closing credits. LOL
But seriously ladies, I could never be a competition to you girls. I'm more the short story kind. So if anywhere, I will add my meagre contributions to the short story thread. I noticed upon reading my story here that there are lots of word repetitions and other no-nos in there. No chance that John Thornton will publish little old me. LOL. And finally I would just like to echo LittleDrummergirl: Who wouldn't want a private meeting with John Thornton? *swoon*
Thanks Laura and AnotaFan for your kind words. Glad you liked it.
There are still tons of threads I haven't even read yet. Some "Getting to know threads" are waiting as well as I always like to know posters from as many of their posts as possible before I go on reading all their info. And so I wouldn't possibly have the time to write something as voluminous as Cat and Heartfelt are tackliing here. Geez, I can hardly keep up with the reading.
But do tell us about Niagara? Does it fall? And has John Thornton been there with you?

The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Cat
Hi guys, we're back! Nice to see the story concluded, Coira, we're more than happy with the ending! (Me in particular. You must be my fairy godmother.)
Niagara Falls were absolutely spectacular. The weather was a bit rubbish, raining on & off, but we went out in the boat that takes you right up to the Falls, & the water is so powerful you get soaked anyway. You should have seen us afterwards! Spent the night in a very nice hotel, & have just got back to Cortland. Pat's family are coming over for a BBQ shortly, looking forward to meeting those I haven't already met & seeing those I HAVE met again.
Pat says that tomorrow, when her other guests have left, she'll read my last 2 chapters which she hasn't seen yet. I plan to be in another room, in case she thinks it's rubbish & needs time to think of something nice to say about them So weird to think that she'll be reading my stuff with me in the next room!
Well, I'll be off for now, no doubt Pat or I will be on later. See you!

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Cat
Morning all, it's Cat. I can't believe it's my final day here already, seems like I only just got here. Oh well, just have to do it all again next year! Yes, Laura, they still make you wear those plastic macs - it's like wearing a bin bag, & they kept inflating in the strong wind. Not my most attractive moment!
Last night was great, Pat has a VERY charming family & her grandchildren are adorable. Except for when they grabbed my plastic folder containing my fanfic & tossed it around - luckily one of the grown-ups came to the rescue! My publisher (& soon-to-be hubby) JT wouldn't have been too pleased. We did look for him at Niagara - who was it mentioned that? I think it was Pat. "While looking out over the Falls, Cat suddenly spotted a tall, dark-haired man clinging for dear life to the edge of the rocks. Horrified, she could see his grip was slipping. Without a moment's thought, she started climbing over the big metal railing, knowing only that she had to save the stranger - for somehow, her heart was telling her that he was to play a big part in her future."
Or something like that! Going to get breakfast now, see you later!

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Pat
Hi everybody!
Yes, we're back from Niagara Falls, and it was a wonderful visit. We traveled with an old fried of mine and her daughter who is a English Literature teacher and a writer. It was very interesting to listen to her and Cat discussing different works they had read in common. Our Cat is a fount of knowledge in that department, as well as an aficionado on films (old and new) and the various characters and the actors who played them. As I said, I was entertained just listening to the two of them!
We saw the Falls in all their glory from "The Maid of the Mist" boat that sails directly into the midst of the "horseshoe" shape of the Canadian falls. The awesome power of all that water tumbling from high above, in an almost 180 degree arc around you, is overwhelming! The turbulence of the water beneath the boat causes it to rock and surge wildly, and the spray from the falling water is like being hosed down by firetruck hose. We were WET!! But happy!! Niagara Falls is truly an international city, and we could hear exclamations of happy terror in many languages at that point. IMO, the boat ride is a MUST, if you really want to experience Niagara Falls.
We also went to an arboretum, which contained a butterfly sanctuary, a large glass building, filled with trees and various vegetation one would find in a jungle. Exquisite butterflies of all sizes, shapes and hues fluttered all around us! It was so interesting, like being in another world!
Last night all of my sons, there wives and children congregated at my house. They all met Cat and she, them. I was so happy to have all these people together to meet her. My second son, Tim and his wife, Shelly, announced the sex of their baby to be born in Januarya little boy! Their first born, Graciana, 2.5 years old, joined the celebration by roughly strumming (slapping) my guitar, singing at the top of her lungs: "I luv my bruva! I luv my bruva!" (= "I love my brother!"; hopefully, she can genuinely sing that song in January! ) It was such a precious moment!
Well, I must make Cat's last day here worth while (She's hand writing a chapter as I am typing here), so off to take a shower!
Take care!

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Pat
It sounds like you have had a wonderful time. I hope you have a good last day together!
I can recommend the "Maid of the Mist" as well. It's the ultimate Niagara experience. I remember when I went I had borrowed my sister's camera and was terrified of dropping it in the water!

Pictures please!!
Ps: Coira - wonderful ending. No wonder Cat's thrilled. Yes, you should write more short stories!!!

*All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go* - yes, it's Cat. We're just going to have breakfast & then going to the airport. This has been the best trip, I've had such good fun with Pat. We even did some writing yesterday - I was scribbling fanfic ideas in my trusty notebook, & she was right beside me, working on the "N&S" ode. Writers' club time!
Yesterday was just a quiet day, a bit of writing, a drive in the area, lunch in a very nice restaurant in the next town, & some time at Pat's gift shop & garden centre, which is SO nice - I only wish I had space to buy some of those things & take them home! Next time I'll make sure there's space. I hope there's a next time, anyway.
Well, I'd better head. I don't know if I'll get on the net much, if at all, at WDW, so you might not be hearing from me for a couple of weeks. But don't let this thread fall off, I'll put photos on when I get home - plus I want to save a copy of Coira's wonderful story!
Bye for now, guys!

What??? You're already leaving?? I thought you'd stay for a couple of weeks. So you're headed to Disney World and stay there several weeks? Well, have fun & and give Mickey Mouse my best! I just love the lil guy. I'm glad Pat and you could do some writing. And what a generous hostess Pat was. All that food you mentioned sounded mighty scrumptious!
And what wonderful news about your grandchild, Pat. And wonderful times at Niagara Falls. I hope you absorbed some of that boundless energy that Niagara Falls radiate for all your endeavours & writing! Can't wait to see the dripping pictures of Niagara Falls. You didn't run across Laura's sister's photo camera when you were there, did you?? LOL
Thanks Millie & thanks Fuss for enjoying my story.
We won't let the thread fall off, Cat. Laura, our rescuer of all threads, would nevah let that happen.

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Pat
Hello! The "Pat" half of the "Cat & Pat Show" here!
Well, I just heard from Cat right after she touched down in Washington DC. She had been concerned that her luggage would not be transferred to her next flight in time, since there was only 45 minutes between landing and subsequent departure. The United Airlines representative assured her it wouldn't be a problem and that they do it hundreds of times per day, every day. She felt a little better after that. Her Syracuse flight landed in DC 15 minutes earlybetter and better!
Coira, yeah, Cat's time here was just six days and then she'll spend 10 days in Florida. We tried to fit in as many "experiences" as possible, including two trips to Walmart, lol! I know, you're all jealous, but when you live in the country like we do, there just aren't any malls or high-end shops nearbyhence the "Welcome to Lark Rise" sign at the outset, lol. I tried to warn her, so she could back out gracefully, but she insisted she came to see me
Thanks for the well-wishes about the new grandson to be born in January! My son Tim is such a "guy", and I'm so happy he'll have a little "guy" to follow him around!
We were a little tearful when it came time to finally say goodbyeShe is a real sweetheart, and so easy to get along with! I felt very comfortable right from the start, and we could ride along speaking or not speaking with no awkwardness at all; after all, we've been gabbing for over a year and a half, so we already know each other very well. My family liked her very much and thought she was very sweet.
My hearing became very adept at understanding her accent, which is not very broad, but more sophisticated and very classy. I tried not to sound too ignorantnot sure if I succeeded, though, duh.!
Unfortunately, we didn't have time to watch N&S, which had been something I felt we were honor-bound to doafter all, we wouldn't have even met if it had not been for that mini-series. Alas! There was not time for such a long viewing. Last night, however, we squeezed in one flick"Dear Frankie" that was supposedly shot in Glasgow. I love that story, and I wanted to see if Cat recognized any of the city scenes. She thought some were familiar, and some were from a neighboring city, I believe. In the film, Glasgow is on the coast, which isn't entirely accurate. Anyway, she seemed to like the film, and I think she agreed Gerard Butler was wonderful!
My husband asked if I would go back to work today
"What's that?" she asked, seriously displeased at his impertinence.
I admit to love being a "lady of leisure"! I could easily adapt to presiding over the manor and taking road trips with visitors. As long as I could write, I would be "quite content". Maybe someday
Well, thanks for all your interest. It has made both Cat and me feel loved, truly! Cat was supposed to show me how to post photos from my camera, but we never got around to itI'll ask my son.
Talk to you all later!

Hi! I forget to report that Cat called Thursday evening from the "Magical Express" bus that took her from the airport to Walt Disney World, where she and her friends are staying. Everything went smoothly, and she didn't lose her luggage!
Have fun, Catriona! We miss you!

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Pat
I just received a post card from Catriona that she sent from Walt Disney World: an ethereal depiction of the "castle" from the Magic Kingdom with a whimsical rainbow overhead. She says it evokes a "happily ever after" feeling in her! I can see what she means!
Cat sounds like she's enjoying herself very muchwatched an impressive fireworks display at the Magic Kingdom. The weather is VERY hot, with thunderstorms two nights in a row. She carries sunscreen AND a raincoat wherever she goes "for any eventuality". Hey, she's a Girl Scout leader, and isn't the Scout's motto: "Be prepared"? That used to be the motto when I was a scout, anyway.
That's all folks!

Sound like she is having fun! I hope there are no hurricanes in Florida. How are things where you are Pat? You haven't got Hurricane Earl there have you?

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles
Thanks HF for the updates. Feeling happily-ever-after is just what Disney World can do to you! Personally I love Disney movies! So Cat is bringing her raincoat everywhere in Florida? I guess you can't get the Scot out of this girl! LOL
So how are your Lady of Leisure plans coming along, HF? Probably as well as all of ours, I suspect.

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Cat again!
Hey everyone! Have you missed me? I missed you all loads! I don't think, in the 2 years or so I've been posting regularly on here, that I have EVER had such a long gap between posts! I did have my drafts of 3 stories with me - & the one of the anniversary party fell free of its staples 3 times over the trip. The concierge in Florida, when I asked her to staple it together yet again before the trip, asked if I was going to a conference or something! I said, "Well, in a way, you could call it work."
So glad to see this thread is still here. Pat, thanks for all the compliments! I can definitely say this was the best holiday EVER. Serious. Any chance we can make it longer next time? It seemed way too short to me! Oh, & glad you got the postcard. I almost wrote "USA" on the address cos I've had to do it before, then realised just in time I didn't need to!
I'm going for a pre-dinner lie down cos I've been up for 24h now, couldn't get a WINK of sleep on the Florida plane, sat for 5h in Gatwick before flying to Glasgow, & I need a bit of shut-eye. I'll probably be on again later, & will download the photos within the next few days. x

Re: The Cat and Pat Chronicles - Cat again!
Well, here you are, Laura! I've spent all afternoon uploading the holiday snaps - took forever, kept getting the CD-ROMs etc mixed up & putting the photos in the wrong places. Perhaps it wasn't just my poor shoulders that got affected by that Florida heat.
Anyway *clapping hands*! Now it's been a while since I uploaded anything to Photobucket, so I don't know if, if I give you the link to the first pic, you'll be able to see the rest from there. (There's 5 in total.) So just in case, I'll give you the individual links, & a brief explanation of each. Oh, & another 'just in case' - if you didn't already know, Pat's the blonde & I'm the brunette.
First snap of us - on the pier at Skaneatels, the town next to Pat's. You might be able to tell it's a windy day. Pat says I looked like a movie star, but I pointed out that movie stars have a light breeze behind them to ruffle their hair ever so slightly, not a gale!
http://s690.photobucket.com/albums/vv262/CatrionaL/?action=view&cu rrent=PatCatriona-Skaneatelesx1.jpg
Another at Skaneatels. The guy who took our photos for us was very enthusiastic & took several, perhaps he was struck by our beauty, who knows? Kept us talking afterwards for quite some time, that's for sure
http://s690.photobucket.com/albums/vv262/CatrionaL/?action=view&cu rrent=PatCatriona-Skaneatelesx2.jpg
At Niagara Falls. Another windy day. WHY didn't I tie my hair back?
http://s690.photobucket.com/albums/vv262/CatrionaL/?action=view&cu rrent=PatCatriona-NiagaraFalls.jpg
On the "Maid of the Mist" cruise at Niagara Falls, with Pat's friend Donna's daughter Alison. Those snazzy blue raincoats didn't stop us getting drenched, but it was good fun - those Falls are AMAZING.
http://s690.photobucket.com/albums/vv262/CatrionaL/?action=view&cu rrent=CatPatAlison-MaidensoftheMist.jpg
The final snap, taken at Syracuse airport, literally a minute before I went through security & got on the plane to Florida. (Nice to have one with my hair not going in all directions.)
http://s690.photobucket.com/albums/vv262/CatrionaL/?action=view&cu rrent=PatCatriona-Syracuseairport.jpg
We got a bit teary at the end. Emailing just ain't going to be the same now. But we plan to meet again ASAP, whether Pat comes here or I go back to her. We shall see!
Anyway, hope you liked those. (That includes you, Pat, in case you've not already seen them on Facebook.) x

The Cat and Pat and Ima Chronicles 2011
I'VE CHANGED THE NAME OF THIS THREAD TO INCLUDE ROUND 2SEPTEMBER, 2011) TO BE FOUND AT THE END OF THIS THREAD
AUGUST, 2010
For those who have expressed interest in our get-together
Well, she's here!! Dan and I waited excitedly for Catriona's flight to arrive. It was only slightly delayed, and before we knew it, there she was coming toward us. We knew each other immediatelyhugs and kisses were exchanged. I was so thrilled!!
Catriona is very pretty! She has the longest eyelashes and very pretty eyes! We went out to dinner and had a wonderful time sharing stories. It's kind of strange to finally "meet" with someone for the first time, yet you already know them so well, like you've lived next door for years. That's the internet for you!
It's 1:00 a.m. here (6:00 a.m. UK time), and Cat just went to bed. We've been talking "plot lines, character development, writing techniques, etc. I FINALLY have someone to talk to who doesn't get glazed eyes if I bring up writing, lol!
Every few minutes, I break into a smile in the middle of our conversationI can't believe my friend is in my home and not across 3,000 miles of ocean! This is so great!
Well, off to bed. Cat will post in the morning, however, she will be posting from my account, so it will appear as if "heartfelt" has posted, but she will identify herself as the poster in the heading.
Thanks for all the well wishes, ladies! We should plan a larger-scale get together with as many people as possible attending, don't you think?
