House : My second House Marathon

My second House Marathon

Ok i decided to do my second House Marathon and so far so great ive noriced some stuff i didn't notice the first time

Chase was really weak at the beginning when things got complicated he was one of the first to sell out and look for his well being, just like with tritter he became Vogler's spy and Foreman since the first season he was quite annoying. If he was so unhappy with House why staying.

Cuddy definitely worked better without being a love interest, she was much more fun in this season but it took her way too long to wake up with Vogler, He was playing with her as much as with the House and all his teammates. He was as much as a bullie as Tritter less threatening than that idiot but made all react like crazy.

The only one who kept his cool was actually House, Cuddy maybe too but li i said it took her a long time to realize how manipulative and evil Vogler really was, she first thought he was a good asset not for his millions but because he would get House into more discipline and have less headaches with him.

The reason Cuddy is less annoying during this Arc than tritter its because she wasn't that close to House during the Tritter arc she was supposed to be his friend and they got much closer here they weren't that close it was their early typical banter.

Season 1 is incredible im loving watching it again.

Re: My second House Marathon

Cuddy didn't get rid of Vogler until her job was on the line. Cameron, Wilson and House were only the first casualties. I don't know why she couldn't see what Vogler was up to until it was almost too late. That she did finally get it was disappointing to see her still blaming House at the end of the episode and continued in the next one.
Overall I didn't mind Cuddy too much in the early seasons sometimes I found her annoying other times I thought she was amusing but I didn't pay that much attention to her.But she could work well when used right. Episodes like Fidelity, Histories made good use of the House/Cuddy interaction and her as an administrator.

Chase was something of a weasel early on.I think after the Vogler arc I didn't care much for him again until about half way through the second season then found him annoying again in season three.Remember how hostile is was about overweight patients? Including a ten year old girl. Foreman was better with her and later it was Cameron who advocated for the obese patient George and Chase stopped showing up for that case.

Re: My second House Marathon

The House Cuddy relationship is really funny in the first season and i think the blaming to what Vogler did to tease him or maybe she still thought hey maybe if House would have made a little more effort Vogler's money wouldn't havd left.

Maybe she felt guilty about Vogler and didn't know how to handle the situation and the episode about the pool was because of stress

Yeees, Chase had horrible attitude towards fat patients treated them horribly and was so judgemental but because of his judgment they were able to save Jessica.
Remember he gave the idea what if the obesity was a symptom of the girl who tried to loose weight with the pills.

Woow its been a whole new journey getting the second Round, i see it a little different this time.

Re: My second House Marathon

Yeah that was interesting that Chase did think her weight might actually be a symptom. Notice how much he needs to be pushed at different times by House and Foreman. I think he often tried to coast. Chase reminds me of the kids in school who would goof off then ace the test ( hated them!lol)

I don't know what the idea was about Cuddy and the Vogler money it was never going to stay without him that was clear when he wanted on the board. He didn't even seem interested in the hospitial's needs. I get what she wanted the money for it was that idealistic streak of hers like the clinic and I don't disagree with it. Vogler wasn't a true philanthropist and he was never going to do all that great stuff for the hospital.
Maybe it's going through withdrawals over losing the money.
But the Kids episode amps up the banter between them sexual and otherwise.

Re: My second House Marathon

Yeees Chase came up with it due to House pushing him to the limit and Foreman did his part also making fun of Chase for being so biassed.

Im thinking Cuddy maybe thought that the board might have hatted latter for letting Vogler go, so she felt guilty about and threw that guilt to House. It was such a weird reaction the one she had. She realized Vogler was a bully and saw his real intentions but still felt like she should have kept him.

Something about that didn't make sense maybe a small flaw in the script, it the only thing i could come up with

now i am back on season 2 and got to the TB or not TB episode godd House really was annoyed by that guy, he forgot a little about his objectivity and it was so funny seeing hik really disliking a patient and he was right, ok its cute he was saving so many people in Africa but he acted sooo stupidly that im surprised only House noticed that while everyone else was kissing his arse.

And i laughed so hard at Foreman acting as House and Cuddy making House appologizing for something Foreman did. too bad Cuddy never knew it was Foreman the one who was rude with that lady who thought had Cancer and just because that woman complained it was so easy to assume it really was House.

I really liked this episode its one of my favorites, the case is not that shocking or nail bitting but it was a very funny Episode.

Anyway when i got to Autopsy i paid special attention to this episode, to see if i missed something in House talk with Emily and what i realized is that the spanish voice had a terrible tone.
I watched the first time Autopsy with my father in Spanish (its the only episode i watched thst way )because he prefers the series dubbed so at that time i prefered to keep going instead of watching the episode again in its original language.

House voice sounded much softer in its original language and realized how horrible is watching a series being dubbed.
I realized he just wanted her to make a choice instead of someone doing it for her. He thought hey maybe she is really mature so then she should know everything about the procedure and decide what she wants.

The voices in Spanish gave a terrible concept to that episode, im so happy i watched this now the proper way.

I second this!
The dubbing not only influences the overall impression but the translation sometimes even changes the meaning of the message the dialogues are supposed to communicate because said translation is incorrect at times. I discovered that with other series, movies and documentaries as well. That's why I always try to watch the English original version if possible.
I started watching House in its German dubbed version. Klaus Dieter Klebsch, the actor who does the German dubbing for Hugh Laurie's recents projects, is not bad but fails to imitate the deepness and softness Hugh Laurie delivers. He also narrates documentaries. While watching them I always get the impression that House is telling a story to me.
The only improvement the dubbing makes regarding the series House MD is with Cuddy. She sounds somewhat less annoying on German. Maybe that's why I was able to tolerate her better as I first discovered the show.
Cuddy really waited until she realized that her job was also on the line! It wouldn't have been long until Vogler would have got rid of her, too or permanently degraded her to a second assistant.

House to Wilson about Cuddy: She is not some floozy in a bar. She is the floozy I work for.

Re: My second House Marathon

Dubbing is a course to actors they ruin performances and like you said certain messeges.

Many voices can sound good but its never as good as the original, House came up much more harsh in the dubbed version and ruined so bad the scene he had with Emily.

The only movies not ruined by dubbing are animated movies since they are translated with the jokes of the respective languages and countries.
Did you know there are two different dubbings in Spanish the Spain voice and LatinAmerican voice and both are equally annoying.

The few episodes i watched in Spanish is because my dad wanted them that way. I started the series with my mom then i went through it alone but my dad watched it on his pace when we got to the same episode we watched a few together dubbed and latter i kept going alone because he got bored.

Actually now that I remember i watched the Vogler arc in Spanish the first time so those episodes felt like i never watched them before.

Re: My second House Marathon

That's why a good majority of TV series need to be watched twice in order to give it a concise and proper judgement.

You'll notice things about the plot and the characters layers and flaws the second time you're watching.

Re: My second House Marathon

I have done so, Cameron is quite more irritating this time around Foreman its so weird he wanted so bad to work with House and yet he always complains on his methods.

Also there have been a few hints that the operation he did in season 3 was gonna happen. You see like House he insisted on keep going to what it seemed lost cases.
It was an even to happen. Foreman while i highly disliked him, im finding him the most complex of House teammates exactly because of his Constant clashes with House.

Stacy was definitely the woman for House, very resonable and realistic just like him that's why she was able to forgive House she he saw her file, that's something Cameron and Cuddy wouldn't have forgiven and admitted her mistakes during their relationship.

Too bad Sela Ward didn't stay, stacy was perfect for House and i definitely prefer Cuddy and House friends than a couple. If they reason needed another romance interest for House should have been someone else than Cuddy.
Their early relationships was the besr they really made me laugh in soo many moments. Like when House was getting his MRI and Cuddy interrupted because he wasn't reporting the father of the top model.

I also loved WTF face introducing doctor Weber.
And last but not least im getting new episodes into my favorites like Role model, Sports Medicine, Skin Deep need to know, Safe and the one with the jazz musician.
His talk with House at the end about how their gift was also a course which made them quite lonley was really deep. First he didnt want to be treated by House but they definitely latter identified with each other.

Re: My second House Marathon

I think Chase gets such a bad rap. He comes up with the most solutions out of everyone in any of House's teams. Mainly cos he keeps out of the drama of the "stronger" characters with more in depth character arcs. Also,
that's exactly why he has the most solutions cos the the writers wrote him to be lazy and unassuming so he gets to surprise the audience the most when he comes up with the solutions. Wish the writer explored his character more. I mean, his relationship with his father could have been a meaty foundation for a complex character to be built upon.

Re: My second House Marathon

Yes Foreman is complex due to his respect and opposition to House. By the end the relationship between the two has developed, not straight, easy line but develop a grudging liking for one another.

I think I was more annoyed by Cameron the second time around too. Later characters especially Thirteen I like more. But I always like her.

Stacy was the best for House, Having someone from the outside would have worked better not only for House but all of them. Of course you still have to find the right one for each .Lucas with Cuddy and Sam with Wilson were bizarre.
Finding someone who would have chemistry with Hugh is easy enough.
I always wanted Emma Thompson to guest star.

The episode when House basically apologized for Foreman is something that happens a lot on House, not specifically that but the viewers, patients and sometimes others see a side to House the main characters don't. House gets too much blame other characters at times get away with things.

Re: My second House Marathon

Chase was slowly improving and growing from Season 1-8 getting at his best from season 4 on. I don't think hecwas a character with lack of development at the beginning its just that he was very unloyal it bothered me his lack of loyalty during Tritter and Vogler arcs.

Re: My second House Marathon

How is it that Tritter got away with his bulling.?

Yes he was a cup but it was obvious he had an agenda and thrist for revenge, it was about everyone telling him to go to hell and telling him all of House's prescriptions were checked.

This Arc was silly to begin with, so much need for revenge for just a bad treatment and House still diagnosed him
