All that was basically different was 3 males/3 females cast instead of 4 females/2 males.

Could Queen Latifah fans relive a 90s Kind of World?
Latifah made an appearance on Bravos Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday, and surprised viewers when she confirmed that her 90s hit show, Living Single is set for a come-back.
Funny you should ask were actually working on it. Its not there yet, but hopefully we can get it happening, she said.
The actress also said that the show would reunite the original cast, including; Kim Coles, Erika Alexander, T.C. Carson, John Henton, Mel Jackson, and Kim Fields.
Although the show is in the works, Latifah did not confirm if it would return to Fox or would join the Netflix family.
Considering the success of Living Single when it first premiered in 1993, it ran for 5 seasons and rivaled the hit sitcom Friends, premiering a year later.
Latifah acknowledged the comparison between the two shows.
We knew we had already been doing that. It was one of those things where there was a guy called Warren Littlefield, who used to run NBC, and they asked him, When all the new shows came out, if there was any show you could have, which one would it be? And he said Living Single And then he created Friends.
Although Friends was inspired by Living Single, it never got the same promotion and level of marketing, according to the series creator, Yvette Lee Bowser.
Its disappointing that we have never gotten that kind of [marketing] push that Friends has had, she said. I have issues with the studio and the network over the promotion of this show.
The Queen, however, made it clear there is no animosity on her part.
Friends was so good, so it wasnt like we hated on it.
Living Single was one of the most popular black sitcoms in history, about six best friends based in Brooklyn exploring life and relationships.

Meh. Friends was just a Cheers rebuild, with some Seinfeld stupidness thrown in. And I say that in a very endearing way.

I always knew this as when Friends initially came out it had a striking resemblance to Friends and as the seasons went on it proved to be true to heart..
