The Terminal : Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

We saw a group of nuns, a Seikh man, a Moslem man but not one single freaking Hasidic Jew, or even a modern orthodox Jew. And this is supposed to take place in JFK or in New York in any event???? Hello, anybody ever been to New York??? Steven SPEILBERG, are you listening, you lousy secular Leftist posing as a Landsman?????

How about some Hare Krishna for some comic relief from this otherwise insipid, long, dull, boring, go-nowhere waste of celluloid???

And another item that bugged the crap out of me: This takes place in New York, not in Des Moines, Iowa. You would think that the tiny nation of *beep* would have a Consulate in New York and an Embassy in Washington, no????? Call up the Consulate and have them send over someone to translate. Just because they are having a coup d'etat at home doesn't mean that the lights go out at the overseas Embassy and Consulates.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

You need to pay attention, dumba$$.

There was at least 1 scene i remember where there's 2 jews sitting around waiting for a flight.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

Which scene, please? I'm pretty observant but I don't recall seeing any Jews.

Please be specific, I really don't want to have to watch this insipid film again.......

No need for name-calling or ad-hominem attacks, btw.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

If you think the movie is so insipid, why are troubled over an aspect so insignificant? Why would you even bother to watch it again?

Originality needs a reboot.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

I didn't like this movie for several reasons, most of which I named in my original post.

If you are a movie buff or a person with a sense of reality and authenticity, then one would notice things which are out of place either in real life or in a movie, many of which mimic real life.

Finally, watching this insipid movie again is very low on my list of priorities, but if I did, it would be for the express purpose of seeing whether I did miss a particular scene or a background action in a scene. Just to satisfy my curiosity and hopefully vindicate my original post as being accurate.

Enjoy your day!

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

gynsusamatoshi is right: I watched "The Terminal" tonight and there were at least two chassidic Jews in the terminal, quite early in the movie.

By the way: I loved this movie, I was surprised it was THIS good!

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

Thank you, Diane

That gives me a good reason for seeing this movie again and thank you for the information in a friendly fashion and not snotty like so many people tend to be when they hide behind a keyboard.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

You're welcome! Too bad that apparently "being friendly" doesn't go without saying here!

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

You're going to watch a movie over again (that you didn't like) to catch a scene with Jewish people in it? That's odd, but hey whatever floats your boat.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

I'm guessing that you are kind of young, like around thirteen or so. If I could wave a magic wand, minors would not be allowed on discussion boards, along with morons, trolls and fascists of all stripes.

I'm watching the movie again to determine whether I made an incorrect statement, in which case I need to issue a correction and perhaps even an apology.

Who knows, I might even view the movie in a different light and might enjoy it more the second time around. But I doubt it.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

Practice what you preach (No need for name-calling or ad-hominem attacks, btw. )

Yes, I'm really young, I signed up on IMDB in 2003 at the age of 2.

Good for you that you are so observant. I love movies but I have life going on and don't have time to re-watch movies over and over, especially ones that I didn't care for the first time around.

People like you are why I don't even bother sharing my movie opinions on this board the way I used to.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

"I signed up on IMDB in 2003 at the age of 2".

I rest my case.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

You should wave the magic wand so you could disappear.

And you should issue an apology, for thinking anyone cares what you think ever, about anything.

Oh! Apology not accepted.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

Your thumbnail image is Rodney Dangerfield, one of the most successful and beloved comedians ever.

You have nothing in common with RD; he was a gentleman. You,however, are a schmuck and nobody cares what you have to say, because you clearly have nothing to say.

Re: Lack of Realism: No Jews in Airport/no *beep* Consulate

When I have nothing to say I just say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
